Hi there, I have purchased a car, but it only has one IR keyfob with a single button, the will start and drive, but no light comes on the IR remote at all, i have just purchased brand new batteries, and put them in the same direction as they old ones + facing down, and still nothing, not LED on the IR remote at all, i tried the "hold door locks down for 5 seconds and pointing it at the IR sensor in the car" and nothing. i can only assume something is wrong with the key ? since i dont have another key to verify this.
Is there anything else i can do here to double check, i have ordered a new keyfob, but i gather it's going to cost me loads to reprogram that one? unless there is another way.
I have also read about ways to do the code myself, however i'm unsure which numbers in the key are the codes, and how to do this. but i guess since there appears to be no power it wont matter.
I just want the key working so i can lock/unlock all the doors without having the open my door then use the door lock button to let everyone else in.
Rather anoying.
anyone any ideas ?0 -
reset the programmer cause some may malfunction due to low battery ....since you have replaced the battery you need to reset it once ...else consult a mechanic...........0

hi there does anybody know if it damages the car by constantly submitting the 4 digit code in order to temporarily bypass the immobiliser or is there a permanent way to bypass it. i have a 97 renault espace and there was a problem with the original ignition so i bought one off ebay and now i have to put the code in sometimes in order to get the car going.
many thanks0
