Cheap & Reliable mechanic/MOT centre in Doncaster??

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a Cheap, Reliable, Honest mechanic/MOT centre in Doncaster?

Bought a car in an auction last year and MOT is soon running out but having not had a car before, I am not familiar with local places

what is wrong with taking it to the garage you used after buying from the auction that did a safety check and service ?
surely thats the best place?

We bought with a new year MOT, and the car has been ok since, so we never actually been to a garage. Now as the Mot runs out soon, we need to consider local places, but would like to go by reputation, instead like Halfords for example.

Why not follow Moneysavingextra advice and use your local council centre, there is bound to be one near you

We live North of Doncaster don,t know where you are but we have used this man for years Askew Automative Services ,based on fifth avenue ,Woodlands,Phone number 01302 721843 he does not MOT test himself but will take your car for you he works from the back of his home but he is a proper business very reliable and always thought he was reasonably priced .We have used different garages over the years but he has been the most straight talking we have never felt like we were being ripped off or being fed bull ever.

So it'll be overdue a service as well then? I would look into places doing a service with MOT deal. As you're supposed to maintain the car to MOT standard, the MOT station you take it to shouldn't matter, regardless what those with sheds on here say about only taking them to places that do nothing but MOTs.

Why would anyone who requires an MOT go to someone who doesn't do them????????

If you want an MOT you go to a test centre that does do them. You don't go to a man working from the back of his home who doesn't do them.
