Wrong.
In order to ensure pollination, you need two or three trees of different varieties of the same genus.
However if one of your neightbours has a tree within a few hundred yards, it is possible that that tree will pollinate your tree. Even better if you want an apple tree and they have a crab apple tree nearby.
And some varieties are self fertile, so check the labels.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
