Xperia Arc S emails

Hi, I've not long had my Arc S (very pleased) but the emails which I want to keep in my inbox (ideally for 3 or 4 weeks) keep vanishing after a few hours. Is there a way to keep them for a certain period as with my previous phone the Blackberry Curve 8520?

It may depend on the email server you have - or it might just be the limitation on the phone.
The BB 8520 has settings to change the period - but if the Arc S does not have some similar setting - it may not be possible to change period of time emails are kept.

Maybe you could try using an email app? i.e. web access through app.

Make sure you're using an IMAP server, not a POP one.

Thanks for your replies. IMAP and Pop servers are beyond my limited knowledge really. I'm on o2 and am using my o2.co.uk mobile email address. I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of why it may be happening, they sit in the inbox for 5 or 6 hours then vanish...thanks for your help.
