The phone was yours from day one of the contract, but they will not stop taking £42!

You need to get your PAC if you want to take your number with you, just cancelling will result in loss of the number.Year 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

Call 02 and ask for it-but not before 28 days prior to the end of your contract. It is valid for 28 days from receipt, if not used, it expires and your contract continues. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

You contract doesn't end, and your phone will not cease to work. It has always been your property, but may be locked to your home network, which can cause problems you might not be familiar with. Once you complete your minimum term, the contract continbues until YOU cancel it - so the tariff, features, and mobile number carry on with no issues.
If you don;t wish to leave your network, you don't request a PAC. You also have the freedom to switch to a better tariff if there's one you like, or going PAYG with the same phone.0 -

Hi runninglea
You say you're not very technically minded, so I suggest the simplest option would be to call up O2 and ask them what deals they can offer that give you just the minutes etc that you need. I'm sure you'll find they'll come up with a good deal, and it will start from the day your minimum contract term ends.
It might not be as good as one you could get from other networks suggested herek, but it will be much cheaper than £42 per month, and you won't have any hassle of getting a PAC or transferring your number.0
