A perpetual (although reducing amount) collection method is:
- Continue to collect Avios - through whatever method(s) you currently use.
- Book BA flights using the Avios.
- Register for the BA executive club.
- Add the flights you've just booked to your executive club account where you then.....get Avios added for the flight you've just 'bought' using Avios!!
- Transfer the BA executive club Avios to your 'normal' Avios.

The best way to earn Avois is through flights - particularly in premium cabins, even better if someone else is paying.
Yes, that's by far the best way. Get a job which involves regular flying on BA.
You will get to the point at Silver and Gold status where the miles are almost self-sustaining. When you use them for upgrades you get almost as many back for being in the higher class as it cost you to upgrade0 -

My partner has successfully done the same thing.
That was Airmiles. Airmiles are dead. We now have Avios. This thread is about Avios. You don't earn Avios on Avios redemptions.
Of course, you are welcome to try. I wouldn't recommend others to try as they will be disappointed.0 -
that it is a shame tho just having booked 2 x return NCY flights in club world..... Cant complain tho

The BA estore is a great way to boost avios. I use it to buy loads of stuff but mainly on onlinegolf where you get 4 to the pound.
I bought my dad a powercaddy for £400 and got 2200 avios (1600 from the site and 600 for using my amex pp to pay for it)
My best mate has just used his avios to book his honeymoon flights.
he used 120000 avios + companion ticket + £1000 and got:
2 x business class to miami from lhr
2 x first class from vegas to lhr
that's a pretty sweet deal!!Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face - Mike Tyson0 -
[It would be great if Shell/Avios can get their act together. I've spent thousands at Shell in Bordon Hampshire and they have not been able to connect their machine to Air Miles for the past 5 years. I have to think how many Air Miles I lost through this. Is there any way I can claim back these points now (without receipts)?

Yes, just phone up Avios. tell them you have spent £10K with no proof or receipts. They are bound to believe you and credit you the miles.:p0
