Well, if they do we'll have to have a rally, there'll be blumming thousands and thousands of us.

Can you just imagine it all,

But you will have to pay on the bus to get to the rally though, many a driver will breathe a sigh of relief if it were true, not sure which is worse , pulling up at a bus stop near a school when the kids are coming out, or leaving at 9 in the morning from a terminus knowing that with certainty you will be late by the time the twirlies get on, search for their passes and have a conversation with doris before moving the dorothy bag into the wheelchair space.

Not in London mate - we can use our travel cards 24 hours a day.

    It's a think tank suggestion
Cuts called for by the SMF include: halving higher tax relief on pension contributions; capping maximum ISA holdings at £15,000; rolling child benefit into the existing tax credits system; cutting winter fuel payments and free TV licenses to better-off pensioners; and scrapping free bus travel for over-60’s.

Someone should tell them that Bus Passes for the over-60s have already been scrapped in England. From next month the only people getting senior bus passes will be 61+.

Any scrapping would go down particularly badly as other parts of the UK still receive passes at 60.

Scrapping pensioners concessionary travel would really be pushing the boat out, as it's existed since the 1940's.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I can't think why this has raised its head again - I've read or heard nothing about it in the media in the past few weeks.
  • No buses here so a bus pass is pretty useless.
