  • Hi
it was given at dfferent times, some she gave me for stock to buy for her and the seller ripped us off,but i told her would make it good.
I am not disputing she loaned it to me,but no there is no agreements, just one letter when I asked her to loan me a lump sum.
I am offering 200 a month until the lump sum i am waiting for arrives.
She said I could pay all back when the money i am expecting arrives, but it is taking longer to come than I thought.
Why would a debt collection agency go to solicitors and police,im very confused
  • PS
Her husband is a ex policeman too

The police would laugh her out of the station, of course its a civil matter.

If she has already passed it to a debt collection agency I wonder why she is now seeing a solicitor, I think she is telling porkies.
Im not even sure that she is telling the truth about the collection agency. If she contacts you again tell her you will wait to here from
    the collection agency/solicitors/police.

If you give her any money, get a receipt and keep everything in writing.

    Call her bluff.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Shes talking BS with the agency going to the police but not sure about the solicitors.

Wonder if the husband suggested to say about the police being involved.

Was she a good friend ?

Its a civil matter so i cant see the police being or wanting to get involved.

Is there any proof that details the loan was made ?

I agree, it sounds like they are trying to scare the OP, unless they are suggesting there is some criminal intent? Impossible to say without knowing the mindset of the other party.
  • They may be saying it was fraud as i asked to borrow and pay from money I had coming in in a lump, but I just havent had it yet,it is still coming, her husband though retured still works for the police in intelligence, and Im afraid due to that
