Max memory in a W300i

Does anyone have any experience of putting a 1Gb memory stick in a sony ericsson W300i.The book says it takes max of 512mb but many sellers on ebay are listing w300i on the cards of 1Gb

Like the W710i and the K790a, the Sony Ericsson W300i has a Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot for storage and supports up to 1GB Memory Stick Micro cards
