How much do you reckon the damage below will cost to rectify. I know it's hard to be accurate but I merely need estimates.

Whoops.

I had more or less exactly the same damage (passenger side though) on a car worth about 1k, they wrote it off, would guesstimate at about £750 but that is purely guessing.

Sure someone with more insite will be along shortly. You could always ask for a quote, theyre free. Have you had a quote?!

I just got my car repaired with less damage than that - new wing, minor bumper repair, 1 wheel refurb and 1 broken suspension arm - cost (to insurer) - £3500. It was a jag though

What happens if an insurer writes off a car? Do they just give you what they think its worth minus your excess?

Is that a Pre 2004 Vec?

I reckon damage to fix privately using new parts £1000+
You could get parts from a breaker/scrappers and do it for under £1000

Cost as an insurance repair £3000+ and a certain write off.

Essentially yeh, im sure i didnt pay any excess though, think this was because it wasnt my fault but not sure, theres a possibility i might owe insurers a few hundred quid, but never been asked for it.

Normally bad news by the way as you almost certainly will struggle to buy the exact same car for the price they offer.

O and it looks like i was waaayyy off the mark, sorry if i built your hopes up a bit.

You usually get a very low offer, then argue for the correct one, which they will give you eventually.

Parts required:-

Wing:- from scrap yard (if you can get it the sae colour so much the better)

Bumper:- from same car at scrappie (if not it could be repaired)

Headlight:- same source

Sub £300 if lucky if you have to paint etc then sub £500.

If an insurance claim then greater than £1k.

You can always buy the car back if they write it off and have it repaired yourself.
