Returning my phone CARPHONE WAREHOUSE!!

I took out a new contract on the LG phone, the date on my invoice reads 09/02/2007, i received this phone on 12/02/2007 (Monday), so i called them up yesterday and was told that i can return the phone to my nearest CW as i was not satisfied with the phone on monday (my 7th day), but the staff at CW say that i cant return the phone because the 7 day return policy starts from the date on the invoice, but i only went in to return it because i was told that i could still return it having been told i could return it as i received it on a monday and not on 9th. Is this right and is it worth complaining as I was told i could return the phone and when i got to my nearest store i was told i couldnt:rolleyes: :mad: :confused: ..Any advice?

    im sure thats bull
    because if they invoice the phone and then it takes 7 days to deliver youd be screwed, im sure its 7 days from when you recieve the goods that you can return it due to distance selling regulations but im sure someone else will be able to tell you more

    tnly thing i would worry about is they may say that phone can be changed but not the contract as i dont think the contract applies to distance selling
