As a kid I had a mate who would CONSTANTLY win things, but I never won ANYTHING. It never really occurred to me that it's simply a numbers game.
I recently started reading this section of the forum and decided to start entering competitions. I managed to bag 2 ipad 2's in the space of 4 weeks through raffles at Charity events with work! I've since won another iPad 2, a holiday in Scotland, 2 meals out, a 51" TV, an iPhone, £700 shopping vouchers!!
If anyone reading this is feeling out of luck, keep plugging away, it's just a matter of time and volume!0 -
my first win was a Barbie dvd - and i only have boys - lol!
think i got a bit carried away entering everything when i first started, although i have a niece now to pass girl thing too.0 -
Also still waiting for my first. People say to just keep trying, it's a matter of time, but I've been doing this almost every day since last August and still nothing! It's hard to not feel grumpy and down about it sometimes, how so many others win so much stuff and I'm still waiting. And of course now, I feel like I have to keep going until I do win something, otherwise all the time has been wasted for nowt... lol!0

Started comping in December and won £30 then in January won £300 of Beauty products and a fridge magnet. This Month I won a Lingerie set from Gossard and a DVD plus another fridge magnet.
Just love the surprise of not knowing when you might win. Grateful thanks to all the posters who work so hard to post all the comps.:A:A:A0 -
Ive only been entering competitions since I joined MSE. I don't normally bother as the only luck I seem to attract is bad luck but your stories have inspired me to keep on entering.
I set up an alternative email account with Google which I use when entering competitions so that my personal email doesnt get swamped.
I do have one question for you ardent compers - do you always enter your phone number?
I moved in with my Mother 5yrs ago to become her carer and I just don't want the phone constantly ringing with sales calls following competion entries.0 -
Won a fridge magnet from Danepak and a Jeremiah Weed Brews T-shirt so far. Been comping about a month and a half. Hopefully some bigger things will come my way but the t-shirt is so nice and comfy!0

My 1st win was some Grants Whisky Tumblers that took 2 months to arrive and my second win was supposed to be casino, carlitos way and american ganster on blu ray and I got sent scarface instead. A sign of things to come...
As to your query on phone numbers I only give my phone number if I feel like I can trust the company i.e ITV, BBC, The Times (although I did get a phone call from them trying to sell me a subscription), Sky, Virgin etc. If a site feels dodgy or they try and trick you by having several tick boxes some which you have to tick to opt out and others you leave blank I just put in 01000000000.
No idea if this has ever stopped me from winning anything.2011-12: ITV Little England, Stargate Atlantis Blu Ray Box Set, Corsair keyboard/mouse, MP3 Player, DVD/BR x12.£50 John Lewis/Waitrose, £500 Pepsi Max it, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Jura Whiskey.
2013: DVD/BR x4, Claire Sweeney Bag, £100, Cat Boots0 -
Hi all, just wanted to say I have been comping for many years on and off. Just started again after another break.
It takes patience and a lot of form filling. We are lucky that we can now fill in a lot of comps online. I use to buy a monthly comping mag and 100 postcards/stamps per month. Then sit and slowly fill them in. We do not see many comping leaflets in the stores now.
Wins, yes I have had quite a few. All what I would call smaller things. Baby equipment, toys, DVDS, books, welly boots, garden bench, Easter eggs, several show and panto tickets, wok, case of wine and single bottles of wine. food items like a case of Carnation milk.Days out tickets.
The list goes on....
The bigger wins like a tv, fridge are not so many. I mean maybe only one is given out and hundreds will put their names forward.
The latest round of comps I have been doing a few weeks now and so far ...A Cushelle koala, Morning t.shirt, Morning fridge magnet and the maple syrup with recipe book.
So for all beginners on here just keep filling in the forms...The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
