Help with Orange billing

I've just realised that Orange have been charging me since DEC for a cancelled contract! My contract was up sometime in June 2011, but I stayed with them until deciding to go for an Iphone 4s with TMobile on a new contract.I phoned Orange and cancelled my already expired contract which was fine and they gave me a PAC number to transfer my existing no. I decided not to use my old number and never used the PAC, I understand that they expire after 30 days! However after speaking to Orange they are saying that I'm still being billed as I never used the PAC so the contract was never cancelled......ARGH!!!!!

if you asked for the PAC,then I assume until it is used
Orange have a valid contract?
I havent done a PAC in years0 -
Hi, you either cancel the contract or request and use a PAC, you cannot do both.
As you requested a PAC then the contract only ends if you use it within 30 days otherwise the contract rolls on until you cancel or re-request and use another PAC.0 -
You either get a PAC and use it (to both transfer your number and terminate the contract when it's used) or you cancel the contract.
As you have now found out, obtaining a PAC and not using it, simply allows the existing contract to run on.
Maybe it's just me....but even in these money-tight times, there seems to be an alarming amount of people just throwing money away, for the sake of a little vigilance towards their bank accounts....0 -
I'm still wondering about this, I have spoken to an ex-orange employee who says that it's not un-common for Orange to use this one!!
He has also said that if I speak to them and tell them that I asked for the contract to be cancelled and then THEY offered me a PAC, but also didn't explain to me about it not being used that the contract would still be in use, I might have a case :mad:0 -
