As previous post WB Red Label does NOT match on price checker, nor does yellow label cabernet shiraz Yellow label shiraz may work.

It is not working for everyone but red label worked for me, shopping bought on Friday.

The discussion with quoia made me think we should have a better explanation at the start of the thread especially about the potential pitfalls. Perhaps RedFox could post something like this at the beginning. Anything else to add?

Tesco’s Price Check or Just the Difference (JTD) a method where you can get a refund voucher from Tesco if your WHOLE shop at Tesco costs more then buying the same items at Asda.

You input the details at the bottom of your Tesco receipt and your email address on the Tesco Price Checker site and they compared your shopping with Asda. Tesco will email you the results (usually the following day) and if you spent more at Tesco than Asda, give you a link to a voucher that you print and use against your next shop at Tesco.

People use this offer for 2 reasons:

    1. Your nearest Asda is too far away such that the costs (fuel/time/bus fare etc) in getting there outweighs any savings made from any cheaper items they may have on offer. By using JTD you can potentially buy the best offers from both Tesco and Asda
    2. You can reduce the initial outlay at Tesco’s by using MOCs, conditional spend vouchers (eg £5 off WYS £40), or on some multibuy offers such as wine, when the 25% discount for six bottles does not compare.

    Be careful:

    1. If you have an Asda near you, you may be better just shopping there as
    (a) Not all items compare, even if they look the same and are the same, and there is no logic to this. You could be stuck with something that cost a lot more than Asda, or have the hassle of taking it back
    (b) The Price Check site is notorious for losing your results, not sending emails back or taking longer than the 36 hours they promise.
    (c) At the end of the you are just saving the money you would have saved at Asda

    2. Do not double count. Some people think they have a good deal because they used a JTD voucher on a shop and then received another from the shop.

    3. The maximum value of a JTD is £20.

    4. Asda and Sainsbury’s have their own version of Price check and you may be better off using those schemes in certain circumstances. But as this is the JTD thread we wont explain them here.

    Weekly process:
    1. Create your weekly shopping list.
    2. Input into https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk
    3. Print out list using the Tesco vs Asda format
    4. When shopping separate the items and pay for them in two batches depending on if they are cheaper at Tesco or Asda.
    5. Pricecheck the receipt for the shop which was cheaper at Asda

    Targeted process:
    1. On https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk check the top 100 offers from Asda.
    2. Usually there some items that you would buy on a regular basis and are significant cheaper that Tesco. Stock up on those items by buying lots to get up to the £20 max.
    3. Go though your MOCs and check those items in mysupermarket. This way you can save your MOCs for a good deal at Tesco or Asda.

Thanks to quoia for some of the content.

Not sure which red label you're talking about. But as several other posters can confirm the red label Wolf Blass Semillon Chardonnay does work.

I got 6 x Wolf Blass Semillon Chardonnay (red label) yesterday too, which came to £35.95 instore after the 25% off.

    TOTAL £ 47.94 £ 30.00 6 x WOLF BLASS RED LABEL CHARD SEMILLON 75CL £ 47.94 £ 30.00

I have now got my JTD for £17.94, making 6 bottles of a pretty decent wine cost £18 or equivalent to £3 per bottle

Think I'll be down there today and possibly tomorrow (using my £10 off wys £80) voucher getting more!

Hi. Does anyone know if it's possible to do a jtd on the meal deal and with 25% discount when buying 6 meal deals?

I tried doing a jtd on Friday but I didn't understand at that point that the whole shop needs to be lower. I did find out from the receipt though that my 6 mini bottles of wine all came up as N/A which I presume means they would not compare.

Yes, look back through previous posts. Nero davola is is the only one that compares at the moment, but yes, will work.

Coolio. I thought I had seen it somewhere but wasn't sure where (and still can't find it but I'll keep looking!).
I haven't done jtd before but I think after reading these posts I've got it now!
One thing, will it make any difference which mains/sides etc I get?
    Thanks for the help.

mysupermarket is notorious for its inaccuracies. Once you have your Tesco list for your JTD shop you also need to double check it via tesco.com and asda.com.

Also there is no point in generating a JTD above £20 - far better to spilt the shopping up
