just wondered if anyone knows if this would work ??? if you were to swap £5 cc voucher for a £10 frozen food voucher and bought 5x richmond sausages (16s) £2.49 t £1.24 sains, and 7 other small priced items would you still get jtd even though you used cc voucher as payment method ???????
dont know if ihis is the best buy with the frozen deal but think there maybe a better 1 out there using the frozen voucher if poss ?????????????????you clever people maybe able to find 1 x

I think I recall seeing on pts that someone tried paying with cc double up vouchers and they didnt get a price check as expected . They may have just been unlucky though.

I can't find it. Im sure the OP who asked for the explanation an i arent the only ones bamboozled by it!

I'm struggling to work out how best to approach JTD so I'd be interested in finding an explanation as I've put my last 2 shops in the price checker and came up with nowt!

It's been around in various formations since Jan 2011, and has been a most profitable way to shop in T's (though the scheme is on its latest revision which has capped the return at £10 per receipt you can still shop carefully and make the most!). Do search MSE for some of the older threads - there is a lot of info for beginners.

So you basically have to create a targeted list for your shopping of at least 8 different comparable items against either ASDA, SAINSBURYS, or MORRISONS (Use https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk for direct comparison of your chosen products in ASDA or Sains -M's aren't listed).

    Example from me:
To get a 10p petrol voucher on cereals, I chose ASDA to compare against. I bought 3x Kellogg's variety packs @ £2.09 (£1 in A's) plus 5 DIFFERENT additional comparable items of my choice - Everyday Value or EV batter mix @ 7p, EV still water 2l @ 17p, EV sparkling water @ 17p, 1 banana, and 1 EV chicken instant noodles @ 11p ( all same price in A's) Total cost £6.97 and 1x petrol voucher receipt. Receipt submitted and JTD £3.27 voucher returned to spend on my next shop.

Other good items to compare ATM on my list are yeo valley milk, coco pops, special k, Krave and I will combine these on my next shop.

You have to spend some time on MySupermarket working out the things you want to suit you but the golden rule is to stick to comparing against only 1 supermarket, and make sure all the additional filler items on your list are the same price or less, and to have at least 8 comparable items.

I hope it makes it clearer, it can be trial and error for JTD so you will have some receipts that work and others that 'fail'. All part of the fun IMO!

    Good luck!

Its on ALL cereals* Why do you think its only on certain ones ?
*excludes cereal bars and Tesco 'free from' cereals.

Because when you go through to the Tesco site some cereals are no longer showing as part of the promotion and the list under breakfast cereals is no longer there. It's obviously still working instore today but the offer is not showing online for all cereals.

Not showing as in the promotion

I'm pretty sure it applies to all cereals, except cereal bars and 'free from' cereals. If this isn't the case, then it is very misleading and you have good ground to ring customer services and get a 10p off voucher sent out to you.

I got 21 boxes of Value bran flakes (88p for 750g) yesterday (which I normally buy anyway - although not 21 boxes at a time!!), and this came to £18.48. I got 3 x 10p off vouchers. I can get 60 litres of fuel in the car - saving £18, so 21 boxes cost my 48p!

I've also submitted the receipt as I bought other stuff too, and if I get something back from JTD great, but I'm happy with the deal I got anyway.

With Tesco new 10p off a litre of fuel is spend £6 on any cereal then get 10p off. Think this is good looking at Asda as they have some cereals a lot cheaper. for example shreddies are £1 but £2.29 in Tesco. So buy 3 of them in Tesco for £6.87 put your receipt in the price comparison site and get back £3.87.

Hope this helps someone. Only good if you want the fuel I guess.

Also if you go for kellogs cereals and are lucky enough to find a store with the free bowles these now take 10p off your bill
