Veterans of the APG wars will have no problem in hitting the 8 different item target.
Or by requiring users to logon to their clubcard account in order to access the 'Tesco Price Promise' or by ensuring that emails only go to the address registered for that clubcard. Something like that.
I assume it's more of an anti-wombling tactic than anything else.
Auditors have no say in what a company actually does, and certainly no powers whatsoever to stop a company doing anything, no matter how stupid or crazy it might seem.
I meant the internal auditing team, not the external auditors of their accounts. Any self respecting blue chip company should have finance reviews of specific projects or initiatives to ensure risk analysis has been completed and benefits obtained.0 -
It is not very difficult to require the clubcard on the new receipt to be the same as the clubcard on the old receipt.
Not disparaging the average till girl or boy, many of whom are students anyway but I think it would be overcomplicated for them to have to not only check the numbers at the bottom of the receipt match the JTD voucher number but also both CC card numbers on the receipt and the new shop match. Not that there would be time anyway“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Possibly it is an anti-wombling tactic, but the new price promise website is already up and running and nowhere on it do you have to enter a clubcard number.0 -

They will. But that doesn't mean anyone takes any notice of internal audit reports. The whole TPC-DTD fiasco has all the hallmarks of the usual marketing department driven disaster. That sort of thing is quite common in business.0 -

Yes I sort of agree. Even if the total losses are in the £100,000s this is quite small scale in a multi billion revenue company. The development of an IT system could easily overrun by more than that.
It would be facinating to read Tesco's version.
Anyway, back to the job at hand.0 -

I believe we're only speculating as to what Tesco might be up to when they say that the "Tesco Price Promise is available to all Tesco Clubcard members".
It actually occured to me that they might do something really simple like program their tills to only accept Price Promise vouchers when a clubcard was also presented. And once they've identified that you've used a voucher that was produced using somebody else's receipt, Tesco will claim you've breached the T&Cs and cancel your clubcard account.
Only more speculation of course.0 -

Agree it should be fairly easy to programme the tills to ensure a cc is used as they do that for other cc vouchers. However, it would be a manual process for someone instore to look at the actual paper voucher and then look it up to see if it had been used in the original transaction. Not sure staff instore would even have access to previous transactions say in another store, anyway. It'd be very time consuming & didn't a tesco employee on here somewhere say they bin the vouchers anyway?
The barcode is just a generation of a number to create the amount so a voucher I might have for £9.89 would have the same barcode as someone else's voucher for £9.89, even tho the numbers along the bottom would be different.
Anyone put a JTD through this week? Are they still working on the old T&C's?0
