Hi,
I have been on Orange for many years. In fact I think they were still known as Hutchinson Telecom when I forst took out a contract with them.
Anyway, I am what they class as a 'heavy user'. My bill is generally between £80 - £120 per month.
I use about 600 minutes and about 1000 texts per month. My tariff is actually one i took out when they still had their price match system (can anyone tell me if this is still active?) so I'm actually on what was the O2 400 which Orange matched. (This however isn't cross network)
Now, over the last few months, I have become increasingly aware that I am paying through the roof for my phone.
This morning, I have been online as I had 5 minutes and I have found that O2, through their online shop, offer 600 cross network minutes and 1000 texts for £35 or 800 and 1000 for £40. This would obviously save me quite a considerable sum.
But here's the thing. I am still in contract with Orange until September this year and more importantly, I HAVE to keep the number I use.
So, I'm interested to see who can come up with any suggestions on how to play it. I've read a few posts on here and Orange appear to be the tricky ones to deal with. I also get a very good service (reception etc etc) from Orange so I am slightly reluctant to move away but at the same time, I'm getting ripped off.
They are not willing to offer me one of the new animal based tariffs they introduced last year until 3 months before my contract ends but I want to save money now!
Please can someone help me put some of this in order!
much appreciated!
