Table numbering

Hey all,
Quick question to anyone who's having table numbers (rather than names): are you including the top table (if you have one) in the numbering? Or are you just calling that 'Top table'?
I think it should be numbered, but my OH thinks not.....
Any thoughts?

Were having theme names and yes were having one on the top table0

I'm having Top table as top table - noone really needs to know how to get there or which one it is as our table is a different shape to everyone elses - if it was the same shape then i'd have it as number 1
:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0 -
We didn't have a number on our top table, but the rest were numbered.0

Thanks for the replies so far! I think if we had names it would make sense to name all of them, cos it's part of a theme.
But regarding numbers my OH's reasoning is like yours, neilcrook - everyone will be able to tell which table is top table! Maybe he's right........ (Ooh, I hate when he's right!

If the table is obvoiusly the top table then there is no need to number it. We aren't having a 'top table' so we will be numbered.

I'm not going to number the top table. It looks different to the others, so it makes sense to have it seperate I think.First date 10.2.2002

Oh my. Sometimes I'm so glad that I decided to not have tables at our wedding...this was *exactly* the kind of question I didn't want to spend my life worrying about...

Thankfully, now my wedding's over with, I've nothing better to do than worry about it for you
Personally, being a computer scientist, I'd view the top table as being a different "type" to the rest, so wouldn't number it in the same series. But then I'd probably number the rest of the tables from 0, not from 1, too...I'm sure the wife would have viewed that quite bleakly, though.
Have to say, I've never been to a wedding with numbers rather than names...I imagine it being perceived as lacking a little imagination? (wouldn't bother me in the slightest either way, though).0 -
I like numbers - especailly if the names have little relation to anything else. We are actually using images... But if I think it might be to complex then I will resort to good old fashioned numbers. I think they are making a resurgence...

Thanks for all your replies – they were really helpful! I guess we'll go with 'Top table' and number all the others.
We opted to number the tables to make it as easy for guests to see and know where they should go.
Below the number on each card is a literary quote about love, which is kind of a theme in our stationery...0
