Just take your vet's advice. If he thinks she's too young, he/she wouldn't do it.

I think their criteria is 6 months or 2 kg as someone else said, but I'll get them to give her a good look over and weigh her before I leave her. She is my baby...:o

If it's any comfort our two little girls were done at around 4 months, because their same age brother was very interested in them to the extent that he made approaches!!

We explained to the vet what we had discovered and the two of them were in next day to be spayed along with the brother. They were all absolutely fine. They were just average size.

I wouldn't worry just get her done then there are no unwanted kittens to deal with, nor the risk of getting feline aids from stray toms.

I got my older male done at 5months, cant remember what weight he was, but he started pee'ing on my daughters (only my daughters) clothes. That stopped once he was sans goolies. PS - he is the size of a liger these days, lightest he's been was when he was sick from consuming items he should not be consuming. He went down to about 3.6kg. Just weighed him now and he's 5.3kg, which surprises me as he is HUGE!! Not in a fat sense but build. Has a saggy tum but thats from his op.....Hes my baby :D

New kitten, male, just weighed him and he's coming in at 1.7kg, and is uhm...almost 12?? weeks old :rotfl:

Thanks to all for your support. Teeny kitten is back home safely after her little op and I'm so glad it's done. Trying to stop her jumping and running has generally been a nightmare as she seems to have gone into hyperdrive since she got home! Tried to keep her quiet in the bedroom but she was howling! It's a big relief to have her chipped too.:o
