E7 with electric hob; would I save using a gas camping stove?

Hi,
We're just about to move into a new place, and will be embracing (hopefully pleasantly) storage heaters, an immersion heated water tank and no gas supply whatsoever. I'm trying to find ways to switch as much usage across to night-time as possible: timer on tumble-dryer and washing machine etc. I realise that the electric hob and oven are going to use a fair bit of kW/h-age and so it occurred to me that I could avoid the hob at least by using a camping stove instead. This way I could stock up on gas anytime there's any offer on it, and it'll certainly be a way to regulate my usage - but will it actually afford any savings?
Also are these things safe to use indoors, does anyone know?
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

Gas canisters? I would have thought more costly than electricity.
  • A mate did the same as he had an oil fired range to save money. Now 'upgraded' to an electric two ring table top one.

Not sure I'd be happy using a camping gas hob indoors although I'm sure it would be ok with reasonable ventilation.
I believe a regular electric oven is something like 4kw and unless its fan assisted can take ages to pre heat, I have a halogen oven which I use most days instead of my full oven as its 1.2kw and pretty much hot as soon as it starts so no pre heating. There are times when I have to use my full oven but I make sure it is full when I do.

Microwave and 3tier type steamers and slow cookers are way cheaper than using a hob.
