Thats an oxymoron........cheap grout of good quality.
Wonderful things YouTube videos. Of course its that simple.I watched a couple of videos on Youtube to learn to grout last year and it was not difficult (I thought it would be).
Then you have failed to understand that the old has to be removed first and that will be the most time consuming part of the exercise by a very long way.If you choose to have a professional, I wouldn't consider it fair for him to charge you a great amount. My (small) bathroom was fully tiled and grouted (before I learnt how to!) for £350 labour, plus materials which I supplied.
Yes.Would you not some how have remove the old grouting?

Hmm - you'm dodging the question. Should be as in "thats specifically what I wanted and communicated to him" or should be as in "thats what I really wanted but he didn't get the message" or should be as in "I don't like it now its down".They are a kind of black porcilin it shoud be gun metal grouting
So what colour did he actually use?

Keystone is making lots of valid points, do answer him!
Blame aside though, if he has used grey grout consider learning to like it. Gun metal\black\coloured grout in general WILL end up marked, patchy and grey in sections over time because grey is its natural colour and it will lose its dyed colour over time. Consider sealing it and you will have a long lasting floor.
Raking out and re-grouting is very labour intensive and its very difficult to get every last bit of grout out to allow use of another colour - and its also hard not to mark tiles whilst doing it.0 -
What colour is the grout?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
