Finally worked out how to add pics!!
The top cake was a small one for us for her actual birthday; she was disappointed as it was a chocolate sponge!! The second one was for her party, and it all went bar four pieces!! She was really pleased, which I was rather glad about, as they took chuffing ages!!

Hi PG, me again!
Have read through your diary now!
I love the pictures of your DDs birthday, that cake looks really yummy!
I am loving your list pf positive things. I have suffered with depression on and off for a number of years now, and am too on the 'happy pills'. I am hoping they will work (only started them recently) as i have been so bad in the past. Once Uni finishes i am hoping to be able to get some exercise and try to get those endorphins pumping a bit!
If you dont mind, i might steal your idea of listing positive things everyday, as i think it all helps to keep the depression at bay as much as possible.
You are doing really well PG, i could (and will!!) learn a thing or 2 from you!0 -
Awwwwwww lovely cake and what a beautiful pic ... DD looks absolutely chuffed to bits & that grin couldn't get any bigger!:D
PS I did had stuff stockpiled in the garage too at one point  but I've managed to get it all into the house now at least

Of course you can use this idea - some days it used to be the only way I could tell a day hadn't been terrible, as we always focus on the negatives. I don't have the happy pills any more (not since losing about 200lbs - the ex!!!), but I think that being diagnosed with a mental illness makes you better able to judge your mood etc, so I find that doing little things like this keeps the scales tipping the right way!
Thanks all for commenting on the cake. We've just been told at work that ofsted is in on weds and thurs, so I'm thinking of making some cakes on Thurs night for work, as I'm doing some for mum anyway. Might make them super-fancy, as we'll all be feeling it on Friday!!
Back later after children in bed to list my positives!

So, positives for the day:
- spent £10 (planned as my treat) and only an extra £3.90, treats for the children. Not bad for treats, I don't think!!
- had a nice relaxing evening despite ofsted news. Watched my new film, drinking a lovely cup of hot chocolate (which my mum bought last weekend when she was visiting!)
- made lunches for tomorrow earlier, so no hassle in the morning
- got my tax credits, and put some money into the holiday pot and the Christmas pot. Go me! Also transfered an extra £25 into the bills account, as apparently my maths must have been rubbish this month. Oh no, forgot to allow for the credit card payment... Can't wait for the motorbike to be sold so I can deal with that!
- planned my lessons for Weds, and feeling pretty confident about them. Just need to sort all the other stuff now!
- Had the heating on this evening, first time since Thurs as the children weren't here over the weekend, and I don't have it on if it's just me, unless it's absolutely perishing. Anyway, put it on around 6pm, and turned it off again at around 8pm. This is really good, as usually I turn it on as soon as we get home, then forget about it until I go to bed at gone 11pm! I reckon I've saved 4 hours' worth of fuel today.
- been turning off the lights in the kitchen after I've finished in there today. It's not much of a saving, but I have a silly four-bulb, non-energy-saving thing in there, so prob quite a lot of electricity to run. I feel better for turning it off. That's a hark back to my past, when we were yelled at to 'shut the light off' as soon as we exited a room, even if we were going back in there in 30 seconds! Evil stepdad syndrome... I sort of went against that when I got my own house, but needs must, so it's down to 2 light on in the evening; the landing (for the children) and the lounge for me. Unless I'm in a different room, obviously!
- put £50 into savings. Not sure if it'll be needed before payday yet, but I'd rather have it there, to call on IF I need it, rather than fritter it away by leaving it in the current account.
- very cheap meal today. The children asked for cheese and baked bean toasties! Served up with some raw carrots (from work last week) and 5-fruit-salad. I shall have the rest of the beans tomorrow, on the toasted crusts which is all that's left of this loaf. I love best of both, as it lasts so much longer than it's date. This loaf was dated the 10th, and it's still soft enough to have as sandwiches.
I will probably not be around tomorrow, and possibly Wednesday too, as the whole ofsted thing is really stressful. I will do my best to avoid spending, but one of my lessons may require some fruit. That's ok, as I have some of it in, but I need strawberries and a few other bits. for the french lesson that may be observed.
Take care all, and I'll catch up soon. Wish me luck!!
