  • Hey deep-in,

I know it's cliche, but you've taken the right first step by asking for some help.

Have you got a trusted friend who would look after your money affairs? Let's say you get £500 a month. You could have them take it all, £300 of it go on bills out of their account on your behalf, they give you £50 in cash (that you can fritter away if needs be), and they buy you a £150 gift card for your local supermarket for food shopping etc, so that it can't be used down the bookies / down the pub / wherever you might be tempted.

Also, I'd echo what the others have said about self-excluding yourself from gambling sites. Would it also be worth popping round the local bookies in your area and asking them not to serve you?

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I have been to the bank today after all and my new bi polar worker took me in the woman at the bank was really nice and has opened a joint account with my mum now so we need two signatures to take out cash and there will be no bank card. They have sorted me a pre paid credit card which doesn't allow you to put money onto gambling sites which will have £250 a month put on by direct debit for food and petrol. DD is now on a special diet for exzema so needed a little bit extra to cover the cost of her new food. I actually feel like a weights been lifted off my shoulders as they are going to sort all my direct debits to come out of my one account. It will be weird as I will have no internet access or anyway of knowing my balance as all the statements will go to my mums now. I feel so much better as there is no pressure on me anymore regarding money as I find money so hard to understand and it just stresses me out.

Thank you all so much for your help and support it has meant so much to me I have to say its the best thing I did joining here
