Problem with Orange

Options
Hi everyone.

Just in need of a bit of advice here, not really sure where to go for it.

Back in August, I took out a contract with Orange, which was an 18 month Dolphin 35 one. After about a month, I realised that, on the same plan, Orange were now offering unlimited texts. Due to the fact I text so much, I dropped them an email to ask wether I could change my plan online, to recieve unlimited free texts. Unfortunately I didn't keep the email, but they told me I just had to select the same plan online, then from my next bill, I would have unlimited texts.
My November bill came through, and was around £70, so it was obvious that the unlimited text deal hadn't been put onto my account. I thought nothing of it really, and presumed it would come into effect on the next month. When that came through, still a very high bill. Due to being very busy, I let a bit of time pass, then rang them up beggining of January, and spoke to a very helpfull bloke. Told him what had happened, and he said he'd find out from a supervisor, and get back to me. He never did.
Waited a week, then rang back and spoke to another person, telling them of the predicament. She looked through the file, and said that the bloke before had added the free texts to my account. I then asked if they could re-iburse the extra money (as that months bill was in excess of £100, as I thought I had free texts). She said it wouldn't be a problem.
Cue a month on, and no re-imbursement, no unlimited texts, another bill in excess of £100, and my phone being cut off due to not paying the bills (they're too high for me to pay at the moment).
Got a phone call from the Orange debt recovery people, they were trying to make me pay it right away. Told them that I'm not going to untill I get my money back.

Sorry about the long story, but does anyone know what I can do? 4 months of really high bills after changing to the unlimited text contract is just not on.

Thanks, Dean

Customer service really don't seem interested in the problem i'm afraid. 3 times they've said that it's been sorted now.
  • It's finally been sorted. Got a letter today from an Executive Assistant, who was asked to handle the case by Sanjiv Ahuja.

AN initital credit of £99.84 was put into my Orange account, then a further credit of £264.24, which brings my account balance to nil.

Mobile is still cut off though, so gonna have to phone up Orange Customer Services I think.....Wish me luck in actually getting through!
