How 'new' is a 'new' contract?

I was on a contract with Vodafone till Nov 2011 when I switched back to PAYG. I spotted a deal with Vodafone on a cash back site that looks good but in the T&Cs it says it only applies to 'new' contracts. Will I count as a 'new' contract?

A new connection is a new contract, topcash say it all the time and always pay out
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

It would be a new contract if you take a new number.

You would then need to port your current PAYG number to another network and then back onto your new contract if you wished to keep the number.

I asked an online adviser on the Vodafone website and he said it would qualify as a new contract so I went ahead and signed up. Just got an email to say an item I have ordered is 'out of stock'! How can a sim-only contract be out of stock?!?

Keep your pay as you go number when you move to pay monthly
