Citroen Saxo 1.4 SX Auto MPG Issues

The calculation is a flawed procedure. All petrol pumps sense tank full by back pressure in the pump nozzle and this varies pump to pump . In this case pump nozzle two had the sensing trip set to a higher pressure than pump one, allowing about 3lit more fuel in than pump one. Over such a short distance this has given a totally distorted test result.
Go from cut off full to empty to refill on the same pump and you might then get something near the correct calculation. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
If I'm doing a long drive or calculating consumption I will spend a bit of time filling to the cap so I basiclly override the back pressure cut off.0

Absolutely nowhere near enough to do a brim to brim test - minimum half a tank but preferably 2-3 full tanks to get an accurate reading.
I could pull more accurate numbers from my behind with 25 miles as a measuring distance.0 -
