Barclaycard error - payment made but not registered to my account!

  • Firstly I did use my debit card. This was taken from my bank account but not credited by Barclaycard to the account. What is even more incredible is that my bank is Barclays!
Secondly this wasn't a late payment. Far from it. The statement was run on the 19th Jan - and I paid on the 20th Jan online. The payment was taken from my bank on the 23rd Jan and should have appeared on my Barclaycard account for that date.
Being as this was a debit from my bank account, would a DD have gone through? This is speculation of course but it might not have either.
I can't get a paper statement in future as I've signed up for paperless billing. So I will just have to watch the account and make sure that they credit my account in future for payments made in this way.
  • Interesting!

I wonder if this is the same weird thing I've occasionally had where a payment is actually backdated to before I've made it. This has happened around bank holiday weekends..

I also pay by debit card on their site.

Has it gone through yet.. can you see it anywhere? I wonder if it was backdated to the 19th - and then you got a late payment fee because that would have put it into the previous cycle?
