Travel Tax petition- sign it now!!

My dad was telling me tonight that the government are thinking of introducing a new travel tax. We would all have to pay £200 to install a device to monitor our petrol consumption and then we would be taxed according to how much petrol we use a month. This would replace road tax but would mean a big increase in tax especially for those who travel a fair journey to work every day. There was a programme on TV last week and it suggested that the average person who travels to work every day would pay about £100 a month.
There is a on line petition that can be signed but you need to do so before feb 20th- https://www.petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/.

Sorry if someone has already posted about this- it just made me really mad!!

The s*dding thing has been rammed down our throats for the past two weeks on this forum, along with it appearing in all the media under various SCARY headlines.

The only things that are making me mad are the conjectures, suppositions and out and out "economies" with the truth that the petition and it's supporters come out with.

I've been sorely tempted to sign the pro-Road taxing petition as a result
