Well, I'm posting this from Chrome on Zorin,
.
Cobbled together a 2GB micro sd card in a Poundstretcher usb card reader. I did say I was tight.
Used Unetbootin 494 and Win 7 64bit to install Zorin Lite, now running 'live'. Loaded in seconds,
@Figment, I suspect it's just 'one of those Linux things'. But happy to be proved wrong, there's probably a driver missing in Zorin that's needed for your particular netbook.
The fact that it all works with your desktop would tend to support this.
Just to add, the Zorin forum answer doesn't ring true, as you don't need a hard drive of any configuration to boot from usb.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
In the BIOS what have you set the computer to boot from? USB-HDD or USB-ZIP etc. Sometimes these options effect things.
It may also be the size of the key drive or even Zorin itself. Please follow this guide to rule out the computer: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/testing-your-system-for-usb-boot-compatibility/
If it doesn't boot try a smaller usb key, if you have one.0 -
There are three USB options in the BIOS. One of them shows the make/model of my pendrive.
The only other usb key's I have are too small.
Edit: Memtest runs fine from USB key.How do I add a signature?0 -
The fact that you're getting as far as the syslinux screen suggest to me that your usb is fine and booting correctly. I'm still going with that this a mismatch.Move along, nothing to see.0

Just tried Zonrin on my multiboot 16G stick, had no problems what so ever on my main pc or my netbook. - with a recovery partition on the netbook - as I said makes no difference.
Made usb with YUMI . (I have loads of iso's on there).
Have you tried remaking the USB image on another usb stick.
Try using unetbootin for a single usb image0 -
I'm siding with Spud17 here. I'd either try a different version of Zorin and Spud17 suggested (lite Version) or a completely different distribution like PinguyOS's netbook version Ping-Eee http://sourceforge.net/projects/pinguy-os/files/Ping-Eee%20OS%2011.04/0
