Can I swap numbers on contract phones?

I've got two contracts for mobile phones, one for me (orange) one for OH (o2), both in my name.

problem is OH is always going over the minutes and texts and it's costing 15-20 a month extra on top of the contract.

as I never use up all my minutes it would make sense if he had the contract i'm using.

easiest thing to do would just be to swap sim cards.

however we'd both like to keep our numbers. is it possible to change the mobile number on a sim card to an existing number?

No. Porting any number out terminates the contract.

as grumbler said this is not possible, but you ask orange and o2 for new numbers on each account menaing that you both would "start" from scratch if you see what i mean.
If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...
  • Why not just swap phones and text your contacts with your new numbers?
  • thanks for your replies :)

shames it's not the answer I wanted - well I guess we'll just be swapping sims then.

    cheers
