How much do you spend on your childrens clothes?

I spend about £50 twice a year on each child, summer stuff in the winter sale, winter stuff in the summer
This doesnt include shoes and coat though.
DS is 10 and really doesnt care whether his jeans are from tesco/primark/debenhams etc all he cares is that they are comfy. What he does like is to go to the motorbike show with his dad once a year and the pair of them head for the clothes tents for a tshirt and zip up fleece with yamaha on it. DD is 4 and I dress her in tesco and asda mostly, if next have a decent sale on i'll go have a look and will get a couple of bits if they are cheap enough but tbh shes not old enough to care what she wears, she dresses herself and we've had anything from a all matching outfit to bright pink leggings with a pair of her brothers boxers over the top and an old red wales top :rotfl:
Im not one for dressing my kids like a fashion show, I just want them to be comfortable and warm with clothes that wash relatively well and are not going to cost a fortune to replace if they get holes in. I dont really care if ive popped to the shop and DD has managed to get her lunch down her or DS has grass stains on his knees, it just means they have enjoyed their day
The only problem I find with buying SM is that DS is so darn skinny we have to tighten them as tight as they will go to fitSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -
I think I spend about £25.00/month on each child but it does vary as we live mostly on hand me downs and charity shop purchases if we can. I always buy in the sales a year or more in advance for stuff like coats and wellies so I hardly ever pay full price for anything except perhaps underwear. One thing I always do is make sure the children have new fitted shoes from a good shoe shop so that sets me back a good £100-200 quid a year per child as I rarely manage to get ds anything for under £30 (thankfully baby is not walking so no shoes needed there yet) .MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0

I don't really have a set amount tbh. I'm a avid Next/Boden/Gap/Monsoon fan and always buy in sale or on Ebay, unless desperate for something.
I buy pants vests from m&s as they seem to last better than cheaper brands.

Think I hit about the age of 13 when my mum decided to stop buying me clothes (except things like school uniform -although I did the entire 5 years on one blazer whose sleeves had came down to my ankles when I started and shoes) and gave me £40 a month allowance that if I wanted clothes - I had to buy from it. We'll ignore the fact that I rapidly twigged I could spend it all on heavy metal albums and she'd crack in desperation to get me to wear something a different colour to black and buy me clothes anyway...Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

I usually buy them 2 or 3 new outfits for the summer, and again in the winter. These go with the things they already have that still fit them.
My daughter [aged 11] has things from Asda, Peacocks and Tesco's mainly, so I would expect to spend less than £15/outfit.
My son [aged 15], I go to Peacocks, sports Direct, blue Inc for jeans. He is getting more into fashion now so I will expect to spend more on his clothes as I don't want him to feel out of place. I am going to give him £50 out of my next family allowance. I will expect him to get a pair of jeans and a couple of tops out of that.
Shoes - I normally spend £25 or less per pair. School shoes come from Tesco or Asda, trainers from Sports Direct.
Coats - I just buy a new one when they outgrow the old one. This year I paid £30 for a coat for my son. My daughter wore last years [she is tiny], next year I will get her a new one, hopefully around £20 or less.0 -
Have just ordered DD a new pair of jeans (M&S) and an Abercrombie top from thebay. I asked her what she liked to wear but it's like pulling teeth getting information from her!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

I feel for you, DS has wide feet so I always buy school shoes from Clarks (since he's wearing then for so many hours I think it's money well spent) but the prices seem to go up even quicker than the shoe size!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Thankfully my lot seem to grow out of things at different times of the year
Last month we went out and spent £100 on DS2 (George stuff, got about 7 outfits for that) This month it was 3 pairs of trainers, next month I need to get DS1 new clothes. DD seems to grow slower than the boys so a lot of her stuff from last year still fits, especially her summer dresses which were hardly worn (Rubbish summer!)
That should do them until July/Aug when I will need to kit them all out for school. I will start saving for that now! :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
