That's a good point, can you alter them? If not, when you switch that function is no longer any use.
One for Eon Malc there.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
No you can't alter them as the consumer, but they can be updated by E.ON if they wanted to. Infact E.ON did announce they were going to update them last year but nothing happened.
Obviously the in house displays act as a guide but could be much better.0 -
In that case, when you switch...that function will no longer be any use.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

Quote from the E.ON web site and the unit prices on my display haven't changed in the last year. That's a good point, can you alter them? If not, when you switch that function is no longer any use.

Yes, that's right. At the moment, prices are for guidance only and not a true reflection of the monetary cost.
Our Smart Meter roll out is well underway but we're not there yet.
We've still quite a lot of work to do and we're continuing to develop the technology to allow customers to have more understanding and control of their usage.
Eventually, customers will be able to see exactly how much they're using in money terms but not yet. Don't have a time frame at the moment but the website will be updated as soon as this facility is available.
Malc“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

There is no agreed standard for smart metering and some suppliers have Bern conducting internal trials.
You would have to switch to a supplier using the exact same technology with the same agent agreements in place. That's very unlikely.
Eon have to "dumb down" the meter when you leave. This converts the meter record in their agents systems yo show standard metering, not smart. So, the new supplier won't know but also won't care.
So, they won't be updating it for you since you won't have a smart metet anymore.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
