My local Sainsbury - praise or vent?

I'm in two minds about this one (apologies to any people living with schizophrenia reading this).

They have Pizza Express pizzas on BOGOF at the moment. Went in yesterday morning (Friday) to buy a few of my favourite Sloppy Giuseppe ones for the freezer. MY store now only stocks the small £4 size (which I find is a bit of a swizz when the big one is only £5) so when the small ones are half-price or bogof I usually stock up.

Yes, you guessed, they had none - not even a solitary one sitting on its own which no-one will buy due to the BOGOF offer.

A member of staff was working in the aisle so I asked about them. She was sorry they were out of stock and asked did I want to know when they were coming in. She scanned the SEL and told me they were getting 7 cases of it on Sunday.

So do I vent for no stock or do I praise for instant update of stock position?

You decide.

Too many vents here. It must be impossible to ensure that every item is always in stock. Providing you are able to buy the pizzas you want tomorrow I would put this down as praise.

I'm sure that when my good wife goes into Salisbury's and they have 2 for 1 offers and if they only have one in stock she asked for a voucher to cover the other one, I say my "good wife" because when my bad wife goes in and they only have 1 item she kicks up a fuss!
  • I ordered two of these Pizzas online only because of BOGOF.
Got one full price and one Sainsbury's own also charged for. I accepted the change on delivery thinking they would bogof the two mixed.
Also COD fishcakes full price replaced Haddock bogof. £7 more than I expected. My choices for online orders no longer permit replacements obviously.
Use by dates on produce are pretty good though when delivered.:T

re the pizzas do you mean you had 2 different pizzas delivered ?

re orignal question, id say its a praise as you were told when some were in next.
  • Praise, you know when they are coming in so you can buy all you need.
  • Maybe a previous customer bought "more than their fair share" with the offer, leaving none for the others?

I have to say my Local near the flat are great; they even put it aside on their Wednesday big delivery.

As for the main store for home delivery omfg-

Two large quiche for a Saturday lunch with guests - out of stock fair enough.... so they substitute with, wait for it 2 snack sized-- what use are they?!

Then they charged me the full price and don't deduct vouchers because computer says "yes" but cashier said "no"the till won't accept them, and then didn't bring half of it even though it's on the receipt ?!

It seems to be case of getting lucky either the sensible mum as picker or the graduate trainee who only knows where alcohol and pop tarts live :(
Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
    Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold";
if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn

To be fair the shopper wasnt aware you were havng quests so not entirely they're fault but they should have subbed them for 2 of the equivalent size.

Safeway used to do "raincheck" vouchers but I didn't know about SAinsbury. (No that they had even one as I said.) Thanks.
