Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 18th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Are you all having lie-ins?! I woke up thinking it must be 9am-ish cos it was light in my bedroom, but turns out I'd left the lamp on all night :rotfl:and now can't go back to sleep!
Only plan for today is to do uni work. I want to finish the bare bones of this assignment today. It's not due for week and half, but I have to submit it Friday cos I'm off on hols before the due date. If I get the bulk done today, then I can tweak it throughout the week then.
I do need to nip to shops to get a birthday card for my friend, and may well order a takeaway tonight to reward me for doing uni work.
OS wise - WM will go on later, dishes need washing, recycling needs sorting, need to hoover upstairs too.
Have a lovely day all

Good Morning Flutterbyuk25 & everyone else to follow.
Today is mainly a running around day, going to pop into town after dropping DS at footie training - need to get a present and a card for a party he is going to tonight. Once home will tidy the house and try and get some ironing done
Then later this afternoon off out to main town as both kids have got eye tests booked.
Will be grabbing dinner when we are out then dropping off DS at his party. So not totally OS here again today
Need to do a big Asda online shop so will try and make that as OS as possible, have a decent sized voucher on there as well from their price guarantee.
Had a good day yesterday and didn't spend too much but really enjoyed spending time with both kids which doesn't happen too much nowdays.
Anyway best get going, the wm and dw are calling me.x0 -

BB no it's not his B'day, lol, but I did make a cuppa for us both & went back to bed for a 'celebration'. I hope you find Eyore soon.
No real plans for today, I need to wash the kitchen floor & make sure all the work clothes are ready for Monday. I've run out of polystyrene (sp) beads to finish the next bean bag, someone at work is bringing me some in on Monday. The 2nd mobius scarf for DD is finished, I'll post that to her on Monday & I've started a baby blanket for a pregnant colleague, that is navy white & oatmeal & one for another colleague that is green & yellow, it looks better than it sounds.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Back from doing breakfasts and am having a little break before starting a wholesale mucking-out of the house,
Bargainbird: You have no idea how I'm tempted to take your advice, but with Kim and Aggie knocking at the door I just daren't.
Anyway, it's not all that nice here today, gloomy and windy, which only goes to show you should make the most of a good day when one comes along.
I think Dylon or someone like that makes a Whitener wash thingy. I know I used one on some tacky net curtains once which restored them to a white that I had forgotten existed.
Have a good weekend everyone. I am off to renew my acquaintance with dusters and vacuums.I believe that friends are quiet angels

morning!
Had a very busy 2 days so not had time to post or read the thread. Had a lovely day yesterday as I had a mini meet with another Old styler dundee doll(not the scottish one:D). We had coffee, lunch and did every charity shop in Worcester:) plus a lot of nattering.
Thursday I went to my new art and craft group which was very relaxing - painting, chatting and eating cake:)
Back to the real word today - work all weekend. Have had a good clean around this morning using my new stardrops(thanks dd:T)
Just got a small amount of ironing to do.
DS will be looking after his own dinner so I'll be freezer suprise. I'll take something to work with me - not sure what yet.
hester - hope you enjoyed your 'celebration';):D
Have a great weekend all x x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all,
Brilliant drying day here, with a brisk wind, so wm is doing its thing, with another 2 loads to follow, will get them all hung out.
Today OH and I have got to go and buy a new toilet for downstairs , the lever for the old one snapped off in my hand, and it is such an old and bizare make that we cannot get another one, I am not that unhappy about it tbh, since we moved in the loo has always had a wee smell about it
no matter how many times I clean it, so hopefully this will get rid of the smell.
Bargain B I used to soak dd's shirts in a weak bleach solution overnight, then put on a hot wash, hope you find eyeore.
Well today apart from getting and hopefully fitting the new loo, I need to have a tidy round, do the washing, and make some soup for tonights dinner, this will be a kind of carrot and corriander, but with other stuff in too, with crusty bread.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
bargainbird - hope you find it! ds would be distraught without his monkey "I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Morning All
Cold and miserable here, rain in the air and certainly not good for drying outside. The washing is on the airers and is beginning to take over.
Not feeling too good, felt very sick last night but DD has a horrid cold so maybe I am heading for that too. Have to go out to do a few bits, need some double ended knitting needles to finish a hat I'm making but don't need much food, went to Aldo yesterday (which was really busy) to get odds and ends.
Finished the book I was reading this morning so may take a trip to the library while I am out.
Hope Eyeore turns up, hugs to the poorlies and fed ups. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all it sounds like your all busy today. Good luck with finding Eyeore. As for the whites I can remember mum boiling ours in the jam saucepan on the stove.
I have a quiet day today hubby is taking the kids out for the afternoon with his best mate and his Kids so I will have the house to myself. I was going to start mt ironing but I think I might just spend some time cross stitching with a good film.
After we have walked the dog in a minute I just need to Hoover around and put the washing on.
We have homemade pizza for dinner so will need to get the dough rising this afternoon. Oh and have just realised I am going to quickly pop to lidl as they have really tasty sausages at 74p this weekend so will stock up.
I hope everyone enjoys their day x£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0
