We have £900- £1100 each month after all of the bills are paid on their DD's. That doesn't include clothing, gifts, food or fuel though. We are also going to have to re-examine this fairly soon as our utility bills are about to double .
We are 2 adults and 2 children with their clubs and music lessons for DD. (DS will be starting them in September too, another ).
Hopefully both mine and DH's jobs will outlast our mortgage (just over 1 year to go but both jobs are shaky) and then we'll be able to set aside some heavy duty savings. Fingers crossed here though.

We spend about £200 a month on food for 3 adults, then I have (we only have joint finances for bills & food) about £300 a month for spending/petrol. I save about £700 a month - some is for my yearly expenses, some for our holidays & some into long term savings. It seems quite a lot when its written down like that! I think my oh has about £200 a month for spendingDF as at 30/12/16

After all the direct debits/standing orders etc have gone out I'm left with £640 per month for food/clothes/petrol/overpayments etc. It's been a tough year as some months I was also having to subsidise the rent on a business premises. For the past few months that has eaten into the money I should have been putting aside for the tax man but we've terminated the lease now and I'm selling a lot of the equipment to replenish that account so *fingers crossed* this year should feel much better.

We have about £1800 left a left a month after all bills (incl. home heating, petrol, Insurances, Taxes, regular savings, pensions etc.) are paid.
That has to cover food for 2 adults and a toddler, the holidays, unscheduled expenses and car or home repairs etc.
Whatever is left of that at the end of each month we add to the savings pot.0 -
After ALL is paid for....we have £150 l/o per month or £550 is maintenance is paid.....which is rare.
