Britannia was bought out by the Co-op, so yes you can undertake transactions in a Britannia branch. Not sure on clearance times though. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I would like to add that the online banking is dire, really archaic
Paid my rent last Friday 17th, it has only just showed up *NOW* - Wednesday 22nd - as having coming out my account.
Not impressed at all. Just make sure you keep a pen and paper and do your balancing the old fashioned way.
There needs to be a petition or something about this terrible online service
Phone service and in branch = 10/10
Online banking = 2/10 (well, you can log in I suppose)..0 -
I put a cheque in the Britania on a saturday morning and it was cleared by the following wednesday.0

That equates to the 'three working days' normally allowed.....I take it you paid by card to source?
When making any debit payment, the time that payment leaves your account depends very much on how soon the recipient actually forwards the paperwork....in other words, with Co-op, your money isn't taken 'immediately' , to spend a day or so sitting in a bank's suspended account, garnering interest for them.......
I pay by mthly standing order..the amount leaves my account instantly on that date....allowing a few days to hit the agent's account.
However, Co-op have advised that transactions are generally being speeded up.
If the time delay is an issue, open another account, pay all bills from that one, and only credit enough to meet those bills...then leave it alone? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
