Anyone getting a "parts of this site are insecure" message when going to the Co Op bank homepage in Google Chrome?

Only happened since Google Chrome did an update without me knowing :(

Bit worried about entering my online details!!!!!

Yep I am getting it also but just ignoring it and logging on as usual.

Hi, Can I intrude on the thread please. Just opened an A/c with Coop, and want to know best way to pay in cheque/money @ post office?
Just had my debit card and been following this thread. In the same boat.Any advice would be grateful please?

Same boat as Joe - just opened account and received debit card over the weekend. Can see you can pay cash over counter at the Post Office.

My question is: Do you need your PIN to do that or just present card?

    PIN not received yet...
  • Hi BaldEagle,

You'll need your pin to pay in at the post office.

I received my pin over a week after the card! I called the co-op to see where it was and they said they'd "send a reminder".
The pin arrived the next day and the 2nd request pin arrived 3 days later!
I was told not to worry as the second pin was the same so if the first one arrived in the meantime to use it.

No you don't, you only need a pin to withdraw money. To put money in you just put your card in the reader.

I thought you also needed to take your paying in book with you and the paying in envelopes marked Post Office!

  • i pay in quite a few cheques and whilst the post office method is convenient it takes approximately 3 extra days to clear the money. My nearest branch is a 40 minute drive away for either Co-op or Britannia so this can be a bit of a pain.

I too have found the online takes a few days to update but this isn't really a problem.

We run two accounts - one for bills and one for spending. On the day that we get paid a regular payment automatically sends our spending money to the spending account. Only problem we have had is that we also have a standing order for daughter's allowance going out on the day after and if the payday falls on a weekend the standing order goes out before the transfer in. I have had several discussions with customer service about this as it isn't the case with payday and direct debits - that all works fine. Think it's just these particular type of payments that don't gel so now we know the problme i've had to change daughter's allowance day to 3 days later to make sure it never happens!

Apart from that i have been really happy with co-op and don't see any reason to change at any point in the future!

Basically as you get a receipt, that will cover the deposit to your account..

The only time I use the paying in book is when I pay in a cheque and send a slip in the envelope.

When you pay in cash it automatically gets credited to your account,

That is why the CO-OP is so good, because you do not need a local branch if you have a post office nearby.

Of course, forgot the paying in book and envelope was to ensure cheques physically get sent direct to the Co-Op. Cash will go electronically. :)

  • Wayforward mentions Brittania, can you make cash or cheque payments into your co-op cashminder acc via Brittania as well as the post office? If so how many days for the cheque to clear?
