tried using an online viru checker like trend and kapersky, then use malwarebytes.

Some people do not like norton/symantec a/v, and some do. I have had many friends and myself catch a virus while using their products, far greater than others including Mcaffee. If only norton/symantec av was as good as their advertizing strategy.
I'd say Norton's detection rates have consistently been better than Trends (backed up by AV-comparatives testing) , but lets not take this off topic by everybody giving their own opinion on what's the "best " AV is and how Norton is apparently rubbish (It won "product of the year" in 2009, coming joint top in 2010, again at AV-Comparatives, also winning a "low system impact" gold award this year")

And my laptop seems to be working fine now ;D
Good. Still do the mbam scan though and post the results.
  • Right, i was about to reply after thanking you, and my laptop said 'Money Saving Expert is not responding' so i waited, and it hass caused my laptop to run incredibly slow, without it crashing. I have tried to load task manager, but it will not load up.
  • Whoah, sorry, after about 5 minutes it just closed money saving expert, recovered my other tabs and seems to be working fine. However, task manager eventually loaded up, and it immediately said 'not responding.' It might be worth noting that this happened almost immediately after i plugged it into charge.
  • After about 10 minutes it started to work fine again.

This is the scan from malware bytes. Do I need to uninstall the software now, or should I leave it on my laptop?

It won't hurt to leave it on - update it every so often and run a quick scan. If you ever have problems it's good to have a second scanner installed.
  • Thank you very much :)
So do you think there might be something that got into the laptop, or the computer just has problems? Or maybe i'm just being melodramatic ;D

  • Oh dear. A few minutes ago, I was using my laptop to finish off some homework, and the only window that was open was PowerPoint. After about an hour, it 'stopped responding' again for about 5-10 minutes. I'm defragmenting it now, but if it continues to play up, is there anything I can do about it? Neither Norton or Malware Bytes is picking anything up.
