[STRIKE]
Defrost baguette porions for us to have for lunch
[/STRIKE]Have a NSD (apart from car tax)- am aiming to have 3 NSDs next week. Wed, Thu and Fri are the best days as Monday i will have to put petrol in the car to get to uni, and Tuesday i have to take the cat to the vets for her 2nd lot of jabs.
Just updating.
and also have paid my tax.0 -
Rising- what a shame you cant get more funding, or lower fees, its so expensive isnt it! 'Luckily' (if you can call it that!) i am a lone parent so get quite a bit of funding as i am also on a low income with 2 children, doing a full time course.
SL- thanks for the recipe. I will have to go and catch up with the GC as i havent been over there for a few days. The pages seem to be flying by on there, is it my imagination or is it much busier at the moment?
I was trying to work out if its just that tim eof the year where everyone starts taking stock of theor lives/their debt etc, as its a new year, but my the end of this month it may wear off!? Mind you, i think i forst joing a good few yrs ago on a new years day, with the same intentions, but lurked for about a year as i was too scared to face up to the true amount of debt i had.
Yet, here i am, now in a much better place as i can afford my repayments, and i am 'only' about £1500 in debt now, as opposed to the £4000 i was in when i joined!!
Sorry, just me rambling as per usual!0 -

Just popped back quickly to say "thanks" as you've given me a kick up the bottom to have another look around.
Just been on the OU site and it appears that the fees for studying there are set according to where you live (so for Scotland they stay at £1680/yr in 2012, compared to £5k+ in England etc)...
Maybe there is hope .... have sent off an email for a PI number so I can apply for credit transfer and will then see where I stand.
I think this was where I fell down with OU the last time I tried as they would only give me 1 year credit when all the other Unis I applied to would give me 2  but we'll see ..... (I have now finished the HND so fingers crossed)
If I just had a year to do & it was *only* £1680, that's much more achieveable than £3.5K! (still don't have it ... but could maybe persuade DF to give me a loan and pay him back)...
Feeling a bit more positive now, thanks:T

Sorry didnt realise I hadnt put the weights down lol! I had typed up this recipe and saved it in notepad to send to a friend via email surprised they never spotted the no weights lol!
butter 100g
oats (I use Mr T own) 200g
flour 150g
caster sugar 100g
then just judge whatever extras you want to add, like a tablespoon of golden syrup (which I would suggest for a sweet tooth as these can be quite plain on their own!) or chocolate or raisins etcLife is what you make it.0 -
Rising- i am sorry, i didnt mean to kick you up the bum on purpose! I wishi could kick MYSELF up the bottom though, less than 2 weeks till deadline and i am procrastinating on here!!!
How was your walk?
Thanks for the amounts weeclick- i have all those ingrediants! I dont have any baking parchment to put them on! It always seems too expensive! Any ideas where i can get it cheaper?
I am currently sat out in the garden, its turned out lovely now! Wish i could convince the kids to go out for a walk in the woods! If the weather is still nice after school tomorrow i will drag them out!
Having a NSD today (not including the car tax), its my first for a while0 -

It was just what I needed tho' so you're forgiven;)
My walk was lovely ..... I'm really spoilt for choices of beautiful beaches around here and I have to go past some of them on the way to the sm so it seems a shame not to go! The only thing missing was a dog and I'm still really struggling with that side of things - fingers crossed I find a new one soon.
It's lovely out but still really windy - have given the grass it's first cut of the year and the washing is out for the first time too .... maybe spring's finally here & my mood does seem to lighten so much when it's lighter/sunnier:D
Now .... kick back ... get writing!;)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks for the kick Rising, i need it!!
I noticed the other day that Mr T was selling the coffee that i realy like, on offer for £4, is normally £6.75. So, at 3.30pm i popped in there with the £10 i save every few weeks for special deals.
Well, i managed to get the coffee...but ALSO managed to get:
Mushrooms (big pack) were £1.20, got them for 10p
Grananry Baguette- was £1.25 (!!) got it for 17p
4x fruit salad- reduced from £1 each, down to 11p!!
The granary baguette will be chopped up into bits, and frozen, the fruit salad will be kept for next weeks unches for me at uni (to go with the baguettes).
Nnot sure what to do with the mushrooms...i woud slice and then freeze them, but not sure if i have to cook them or something first?? I might ask on the OS board, someone there is bound to know!
The bloke handing the reduced stuff out was brilliant, gave us all a good giggle (there were quite a few people around thgat section!).
Like there were big bags of potatoes reduced to 17p, but originally they were £1.89 BOGOF and he was saying, oh you may as well get 2 bags as they are still going through as BOGOF even though reduced!
I did pick up 2 bags of them, then realised i was just being greedy as i didnt NEED potatoes, so put them back for someone else.
I LOVE bargains!!:D:money:0 -

That's a fanastic haul :money:sm envy rearing it's head again here:rotfl:
The mushrooms will be fine sliced & frozen - they're not "perfect" but are fine put in casseroles / bolognaise etc and I just put them straight in from frozen.:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks Rising, i'll chop and freeze in a minute then.
Back when i was a lurker on this site, I used to read threads about people buying reduced sticker stuff and laugh at how excited they got when they got a total bargin.
Well, i no longer laugh! I LOVE getting a bargain now!0 -
I always find it a big thrill when I get a great bargain! We ate just such a bargain for dinner today. It was roast pork nomnomnom. I got a massive piece, about 3.5kg, and chopped it into 3 pieces for the freezer. It cost £2.10, so today's meat was 70p!! Unfortunately, it was a touch on the fatty side, and the cat got it before I put it into the fridge, but I don't mind too much, as I won't feed her tonight now, and it was cheap to start with anyway!
Now to think of something else for dinner tomorrow...
