MM- well done for avoiding L!dl. :j
Linz- thanks for the recipe, they sound easy to make, which is good!!
I am pleased to say that i havent been within 100yds of a SM today, and i would have had a NSD if it hadnt been for the handbrake costs! That'll teach me for having a tantrum in the car and snapping the cable
The kids are NOT happy that we dont have loads of snacks in, but i have £5 in my wallet from lasy week so i will use that to pop into L!dl on the way home from uni tomorrow to get a few bits and bobs for them. I am in love with their choc chip biscuits, just as good as Maryland but are only 40p!! I almost died when i saw the maryland ones for about £1.10:eek: i had no idea they had gotten so expensive!!
If anyone has any ideas where i can get some baking trays from, please let me know, as i now only have 1 left!0 -
Just popping in to see how you are getting on Cleggie.
Well done for fixing your tumble dryer, I managed to fix mine the other day, it gives you a real sense of achievement. My ex-husband was not good at DIY so I have had to learn a lot myself. I asked him years ago to change a light bulb in our lounge and came downstairs to find the whole light fitting hanging out of the ceiling, god knows what he was doing.
Yesterday seemed like a day for everything breaking down, my car has started making a whirring noise when I slow down or turn a corner so have a mobile car mechanic coming tomorrow to look at, hopefully it won't cost too many pennies.
Then my hob ignition kept sparking and realised that I had spilt water on the hob so unplugged the hob ignition and dried it out overnight and it has now stopped sparking all the time :j
A good website to check out if you have a problem is fixya.com as someone else has usually had the same problem.
Keep up the good work

Dunelm Mill had them for about £1.50 for the cheapest when I was buying Kilner jars in there Saturday before last. They had about 3-4 different ranges (qualities and prices) - or your good friend the charity shop - the one by work had a set of stainless steel pans for prices starting from 99p hast week.

OK..so i went to tesco this evening to treat the kids to some sweets with the £5 in my purse, and there were loads of reduced bits.
So i got:
2xfrench breadsticks (were 79p each, reduced to 17p each)
Big pack of southern fried style chicken (was £3.79, reduced to 75p)
Pack of turkey breast (was £3.50, reduced to 88p)
Large fruit salad (was £1.40, reduced to 95p)
Spent a total of £7.87, which i will update my signature in a minute.0 -
Morning!
Just a quick one this morning, as i need to get my bottom off the sofa and get the kids to school and myself to uni!
Things to do today:
Check OLB
Email my uni about a bursary that i may be receiving0 -
Good afternnon everyone!
Went into town today, which is always a bit of a nightamre if attempting to spend nothing!
But i am really pleased with myself.
We went into Lidl, Tesco, Charity shop, Peacocks and Waterstones...and i spent i grand tota of ....£1.50 (forgot to eat breakfast and have to eat with the pills i am taking).
My son wanted a beast quest book, and had a £5 book voucher left from Xmas, and the book was £4.99, so didnt have to spend anything!! Planning on staying at home until Friday now.
I need to do an @sda shop but i have a few Qs:
If i order today for a delivery in Friday, does the money get debited from my account today or Friday?
Also, what day of the week do @sda change their offers, are are they weekly?
SL, thanks for the tip about buying the trays at Dunelm Mill. I must admit i have never heard of them, so wil have a look online and see if there is a store close to me.
Tracey- sorry to hear you are having car trouble too do you know whats wrong with it? Thanks for the tip about the website to look on, i think i'll bookmark that one!0 -
Hi Cleggie - well done on not spending much money:j:j
I think your account gets debited AFTER it has been picked (which is normally day of delivery) as when you do your shop on line, it is only an indication of the price as things might be out of stock, or the price might have increased/decreased (yer right:p) from when you actually put in your order to when you get it delivered. Thanks MM, thats what i thought.
I am trying to work out when their offers change, as i am thinking about filling my trolley online today, and then logging back in on Friday and just paying for it. But my worry is that when i log back in on Friday, all the offers will have changed.
Have definitey decided that once or twice a week i will pop into the supermarket at about 7.30pm to see what bargains i can get as i got enough baguette (Chopped them up into sections and froze them) for 8 lunches for the grand total of 34p
I will be going to L!dl this weekend to stock up on their mince, as its on a weekend offer if i remember correctly.0 -
Not too sure on that one, coz when I asked last week about cat food the staff member said it the offer was finishing on either Saturday or Sunday (he wasn't 100% sure which day) and the other week an offer finished on a Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!! So doesn't look like they all change on the same day:mad: which doesn't help us MSE'ers, does it?When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling.
