The extra points are added at the bottom of your receipt, not by the cashier.

Where the staff have to use judgement is if for example some 'smart customers' decide to put just a couple of items in a huge number of bags to try and increase their entitlement. Trsut me, a lot try it!

Had that discussion too which is when I raised the issue of sensible weighting. I think the staff are fully justified in querying what is clearly silly bagging and once again, it is the greedy who are spoiling it for the rest.

surely the cashier has to manually add how many points you are entitled to,the till wouldnt know without this input.

Be aware, Tesco employees seem to be conveniently 'forgetting' to add in green Clubcard points for re-using bags now - my wife noticed that this has happened on all occasions that we have visited Tesco in the last couple of weeks.

No doubt they are really pleased that so many people are re-using bags, so they don't have to make and provide as many now! Environmental concerns, my foot! And how convenient that they will only add green points when we insist!

if you mention how many bags reused when they have just put the shopping through the till they will give you the points, if you had bags that werent tesco labelled you would have thought it would be obvious that you were reusing your own bags but the person on the till has a lot to remember so by telling them at the start or thinking the will ask at the end of the shopping being scanned your wrong, they do have alot to remember

Yes but the bonus points are then added automatically, not by the cashier. Your post said that you were diddled when you were talking about the double points. If your cashier didn't give you any points then you missed out. Otherwise, you should find the bonus points at the bottom of your receipt.

I pointed out to the cashier before she started scannin my goods that i had 2 of my own bags,so she should have given me 4points,but only gave me 2,i think this is called being diddled,i also think the cashiers cant be bothered, pure and simple.

I am looking at the bottom of a Tesco reciept from 3 different stores over last few days.

In the items bought section there will be a line which says (providing it is done correctly) - Bag Re-Use * x @ £0.00

x = Number of bage input by Cashier. So check this to see how many bags the cashier told the till you used and see if it tallies.

There is then a statement which says - You will recieve your Double Green Clubcard Points in your May Statement.

Now bear in mind that the Double Green Clubcard Points promotion is applying to a huge range across the store at the moment (Green, Organic, Fairtrade) I suspect that Tesco are doing this the way they have run other similar promotions in the past and will add a block sum of Points to each account at the end of the promotion period. They did this before with Wholefoods, Fish etc.

In other words, Green 'Double Bonus' Points will appear in one go before the mail out in May after the promotion has finished and not be added on each trip during the promotion.

the double points for reuse of bags should show in the May statements.
