Sounds like you need to seek out a good garage.

I used to pay a tenner for puncture repairs until somebody told me of a garage that repairs for a fiver, which I obviously use.

£20 is crazy to me because I get the same thing done for £5.

    i run a garage
    heres some figures for you

    patch
    glue
    electricity
    wear n tear
    wages
    overheads
    20% vat

now if you can still make it work at £10 or less then you are either working from a shed are working for nothing or are fooling yourself

    Are you a struggling business?

20% vat will obviously be more expensive the more expensive you price the item.

ie 20% of a fiver is less than 20% of £20.

How long does it take you to repair a tyre? It takes minutes where I go, I'd be waiting all day for you by the sound of it.

And all your other costs are negligible, they are bulk items, like the glue.

And you don't just open up your garage one day just to repair a puncture!:rotfl:

Tell us your garage so we can avoid it!:rotfl:

I sometimes think that people on MSE, get a bit too far into the money idea and confuse it with expecting everything for free.

How is paying £5 or £10 for a puncture repair having it done for free?

Why would I go to a garage like kwikfit and pay £20 for something I can get done for a fiver?

That's not just money saving, it's common sense.

Well, I wouldn't go to your garage as you are obviously overpriced, God knows what you would charge for a new clutch!

You must have a client base of dotty old dears and people with more money than sense.
