Pipex - Charged £39.90

I've been with Pipex 4 years, during that time I have been paying £23.44 a month for my connection.
I just checked my last bank statement and at the bottom, one day after my monthly Pipex payment, they've charged me £39.90. I have never been charged this before, just my usual monthly fee. I am not a heavy user, I just play World of Warcraft, and hardly every download anything extra.
Just wondering if anyone else has been charged this or similar? I am seriously thinking of leaving Pipex now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've tried, but they're closed Sundays
Will be ringing tomorrow, was just hoping if anyone else had had a similar charge.

I've checked bank statements over the past few months and there's no other charges of this nature, anywhere. It has to be a mistake. My usage hasn't changed over the past year, so why a 39 quid charge I don't know.

Quit as soon as possible.... Overpiced service.... bad c.s.
But beware,
they will stitch you up for an extra 12 months without your knowledge with any upgrade of service and I mean any...and have the cheek to say they informed you.... and if you cancel early expect a whopping breach of contract fee too ... ouch.0 -
I'm not sure I agree. I'm on Pipex for the same £23.44 per month (£19.99 plus VAT) and have found their service to be great, at least until recently where I've experienced several outages since Xmas. Their customer services have always been bang on for me, too. It might be more expensive than other services, but that's not necessarily over-priced.
It's not going to stop me from asking for my MAC code though - I hear they do deal matching if you ask to leave and Demon offer a faster service with roughly the same small print for a cheaper price.0
