    Ok, here's my review.

First of all you notice how thin it is, yet it's really heavy. Much heavier than the bog standard hollowfibre duvet (that was 3 times as thick) that it replaced. It's feels like you're sleeping beneath a fire blanket, it's also quite rigid, so if you ruffle it up it takes a few seconds to drop back down in place.

As for the magical temperature regulation properties, I can't really comment. It just felt nice and warm. I suspect it'll be too hot for summer use when that comes, but can't tell for certain yet, obviously.

In short it's clearly a quality product, and I've no regrets at all for buying at £32. The pillows are comfortable, yet keep their shape. You'll only need one, IMO.

It may take a week to get used to, as I say it seems odd sleeping under something that's so heavy in comparison to what we used before. Don't think we'll be changing back in a hurry though.

I don't think you'll notice the heaviness tonight Fogg, I certainly didn't after one night. Also it becomes softer and malleable (spelling?) the more you use it. Personally I believe that it will be cool in summer - because as someone who has suffered with night seats for years - whatever the weather - I have only been aware of 1 very short such episode since buying this quilt.

This offer seems to have finished ... are there any alternative places to buy this ?

Maybe its just finished online mich_roh? have a look at the Dunelm site as there are tons of shops around the country and they probably still have them in store.

They are also available on Amazon, but at twice the price! (sorry!)(http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product//...123474-2200741

Im tempted to get the set of these, matress topper, duvet and pillows. Have known about the qualitys of wool after buying my dog merino wool, dog blankets but didnt realise you could get these as duvets.

Are you supposed to use them as they are though rather than putting a cover on them so that you get the full breathing and moisture absorbing properties from them? I have emailed Fogarty about this to see what they say. I hope thats not a really stuped question to ask ( i am known for asking stuped questions :p ) but if you dont ask then you dont know, thats what i always say.

Fogg1969 looking forward to your report tomorrow, (thats if you wake up from such a great sleep :D ) as i will use that as a basis for my decision, although like ksh123 states perhaps you should give it a couple of days for you to get used to them.

Didn't believe MY review eh? Humph, a person could get quite offended, lol.
I have a cover on mine as much to protect it from the cat as anything else. There is nothing on the packaging to say do or don't use a cover.

Would be very interested to know what Fogarty reply to you - please will you post it on here! If you don't need a cover, I won't have to buy new ones!

Ive had a reply to my email and here it is:-

    Thank you for your e-mail.

The wool filled duvets you use as you would with any other duvet, therefore we recommend using separate covers.

Our wool duvets are to be used all year round, so do not have different weights for summer or winter. The fill weight of the Fogarty wool duvet is 360g/m2.

As wool is temperature regulating – no tog rating is required. It is naturally breathable and resistant to house dust mites and bacteria. Also fully washable and can be tumble dried.

I hope this is of some help to you.

So looks like you will need to go get a cover then.

Tell us about them then Jaymac. I've often wondered if toppers are worth their money e.g. - do they help when your mattress has a "dip"? and how come (or maybe they do) they don't just get squashed into submission so you don't get the benefit?

Mind you, isn't foam a bit errrr sweaty? (sorry for indelicate question :))

I bought a topper off ebay a couple of years ago, its basically a slab of foam with a this layer of a more open textured foam on the top, and its the best buy I have ever made!

It was bought to go on top of our old Dunlopillo foam mattress that was sagging a lot, and I slept soundly on it from the first night. You do get hotter, presumably because you sink into a little you shaped hole, but a lighter quilt does the trick.

There may be problems if you are a roller as opposed to a turner. I turn over in my sleep which is not a problem. The wife was a roller, ie she rolls from side to side across the bed, but, because you are in a little hole you have to roll uphill to get out of it, so to speak. That took her a long time to get used to
  • Got these quilts yesterday. Do you think the pillows are worth extra expense. I use two feather ones at the mo. They had quite a lot in my local Dunelm.

I bought a 2" mattress topper and it is great. I suffer from restless legs and find it is so much better with this. Im not constantly waking up half the night. I paid around £75 for it from one of the sunday newspapers, sorry cant remember which one.

    Would definetly recommend it.
  • I bought 4 pillows, a superking, double and two single toppers, and 2 yes 2 superking duvets! The pillows are amazing and the most comfortable I have used esp at the price! The duvets are heavy but I like that especially the weight of 2! Lovely quality and a superb bargain. Thanks Dunelm!
Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

    Primum non noce!
