Hey all it's v quiet on here hope you're all doing ok. Happy Easter btw. So in starting to stress I still don't have a venue. We loved the barns hotel in Bedford but I took my parents and my dad just kept saying it was too far and now he's put me off :(. There's just not much around here. However, going to view whipsnade zoo on Saturday, it's right on my doorstep so he definitely can't complain about distance! I'm a major animal lover so it seems like a good idea, if ruled it out previously as I expected it to be stupidly expensive. Keeping everything crossed cos if this doesn't work out I really don't know what were going to do. Argh!

Anyway sorry for the rant, had to get it off my chest

sorry your dad isnt being more helpful a few people have had weddings at zoos ellay had hers at one and someone else they both had wonderful days it sounds like a brill idea

what date are you looking for as there may be some leverage to haggle on the website it says there is a 15% discount for weddings in october - april

you could look at calling it a family fun day http://www.zsl.org/zsl-whipsnade-zoo/corporate-and-private-events/corporate-hospitality,154,AR.html it may be a bit cheaper

there is also 10% off here for 2012 dates http://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-venues/whipsnade-zoo_5031.htm

here are some capacity details http://www.weddingtv.com/venues/155-whipsnade-zoo.html

i cant find anything on the actual price though

im doing well but trying to find someone to do my make up as i have absolutely no idea what im doing with that sort of girly stuff i dont think i have done my own make up since i was 16 and thought the goth look was amazing since then my sister has done it all for me :)

i have found a lovely dj and my SIL2B has agreed to do my hair (she is very good :) i have bought a dress for my engagement shoot and got it all booked. there is a new dress shop in bletchley that im going to check out at some point this week I am now really feeling the pressure of finding a dress most people i have talked to have said you need 9 months!!!! i only have 6 to go!!!! ARRRGGGGGHHHHHH

i ventured with OH to B and Q yesterday and found plain white flower pots in different shapes but they are really cute, so i have bought a load for the sweetie buffet - my lovely sweetie lady in the brunel centre in bletchley is sorting me out brilliantly!

hope everyone else is doing good

    happy easter xxxx

Datewise I'm not too fussed bit I'd prefer late spring early summer. Have since got the brochure from them and room hire is £1000, and wedding breakfast with drinks is about £51 pp so not bad. Only thing is it says minimum 70 to the breakfast but I only want 50, then 100 in the evening. It says they're happy to discuss smaller numbers so will just have to see what they say on Saturday.

Aww your flower pots sound really cute, that's a good idea for the sweetie table.

Seeing how well you're getting on reminds me how much I have to do Eek! I'm sat here reading the sandals brochure, can't help but think honeymoon should probably wait lol
