That was my uni too! Haha and I had my school prom there, just remember all the boys ending up in the fountain outside lol. Thanks got letting me know it's changed tho haven't been there for years! Oh sounds good about the barns. Have no connections with Bedford but it does look lovely online. Will go and investigate. I'd love to do it for much less I just haven't got s clue what I'm doing so figure I'm going to end up paying for knowledge and convenience. What have you got planned for yours??

Nic - Bletchley Park is coming in at around 5.5k for 45 day and 100 evening guests with a 3 course meal and an evening lamb baps and salads (wanted a hog roast but OHs family is jewish lol )

there are loads of brilliant places in and around milton keynes

of course woburn is always a popular one but not great on a budget

the old palace lodge hotel is pretty - near the downs

mitchell hall out towards cranfield

horwood house just outside of MK

waddesdon - the dairy at the manor

hartwell house near aylesbury

and then all of the hotels in milton keynes and golf clubs

oooooooo somewhere different could be the luton hoo walled gardens

Thanks for all the suggestions I'll definitely investigate. That's pretty good I would have imagined that was way out of my budget. Haha catering will be interesting I'm veggie lol. The old palace lodge is quite pretty but since the Norman king pub right next door burnt down it's a bit sad looking they don't seem to be fixing the pub either!! Luton hoo would be nice, I imagine the price may be the determing factor then hehe. It's a marquee isn't it?

yup luton hoo is a marquee so probably only good for summer but would be beautiful

my OHs family are jewish so most are having veggie instead of trying to find kosher

when i was looking i found most places were brilliant with the veggies its not as bad as it used to be!

shame about the old palace - i havent been down to dunstable in about 6 years so things may have changed a little lol

Haha yeh it's not somewhere id choose to rush to either haha. The Norman king got burnt down when all of the riots were happening. So now the roofs gone and all charred and a complete eye sore! Ooh I'm excited to decide on my bridesmaids and then drag then round all the wedding fayres with me haha.

cake, venue, invites are sorted everything else is still to do........ dress is my worst fear as well i dont even know where to start lol

He's adamant he wants it this year Argh! Other than that no not yet. The more time we have to save the better in my book. I'm the worrier and the planner of the relationship lol. I'm so in love with this dress I saw in the window but I just know I'll try it on and be disappointed that I look hideous in it or something lol. I just hope I make the right choice with bridesmaids and that they will help me and keep me sane lol.

yup my colours are royal blue and silver, if you are looking for a saturday this year you need to get a move on most of the places i tried were already fully booked!

also a lot of photographers are getting booked quickly it took me 3 tries before i found one available on my date - which is supposed to be in the quiet season lol

i would get a rough date together fast!!!

i really dont want to panic you and give you any pressure or anything like this but maybe a nudge to get going!

go and try the dress - you will never know until you do (and get lots of piccies for us)
