My experience was this I spoke to Radflek via Internet and asked what time the offer was from they cut me off and up popped a standard call me by phone notice. As a result of rereading MSE I found it was 1200 today. Therefore I was online and waiting till 1200 exactly and had no luck getting the Link to work after around 3 more attempts I gave up and reported it as a dead link (still waiting a reply) Naive I know but this is my first use of the site to get a freebie. It has left a bad taste in my mouth and as a result I will use this site for information only and use one of the alternative solutions mentioned above.
It seems to me that perhaps the thing that people are annoyed about is having their time wasted? It may have been better to run this as a prize draw promotion, with a 1,000 winners and losers getting the discount. Allowing people to enter over a longer period of time and then announcing winners afterwards.0 -
I'm astounded people are getting so angry over the fact they didnt get one of 1000 free packs. Get over it! There were lilkely to have been thousands upon thousands of people going for this so if you didnt get one because of whatever reason thats just bad luck.
I tried and failed, the page wouldnt load for me. Oh well. It didnt affect my sleep last night
If you've tried to contact the company chances are so have thousands of others so wait your turn and who knows they might get around to replying to you among all the other Complaints theyve received today about a FREE product they were giving away!! Don't even have the courtesy to answer.

I'm not throwing my rattle out the pram cos I didn't get one.
This thread is more to hilight the miscommunication and underhand way this offer was carried out.
Radflex pride themselves on their customer service? Well, no one from Radflek has posted a response in THIS thread.
Courtesy costs nothing, bad customer service costs you EVERYTHING.
If you ask me a question, I will reply, I don't ignore you - its common courtesy..0 -
The original emailed MSE newsletter says:1,000 FREE £10 radiator heat reflector 4-packs.
Blagged for MoneySavers. Stick them behind your radiator to save energy & cash. Only 1,000 though. Full info in Free Energy Saving Products.
Clicking on link above took you to:
What: We’ve blagged a thousand free packs of Radiator Reflectors. Each pack contains two 1.2m x 0.6m sheets (which you cut so they fit four radiators) and eight hanging clips.
Note: we've blagged (MSE)
How do I get one? As there are only 1,000 to be fair to all MoneySavers getting the weekly email we will put the link live on Thursday - then all you need to is click through to get it - if you don’t get one of the 1,000, it will be a 20% off code until Wed 22 Feb.
So, you'd think MSE hat got 1,000 packs reserved for MSE users who receive the email.
Well, the link to the free packs was available for all to see.
When asked about this, Radflek replied on Twitter:
So they weren't exclusively for MSE users.
And obviously not if they were promoting the free packs on Twitter and Facebook too.
Someone has made a mistake over this offer, and the people who tried and weren't lucky should have an explanation, or better still an apology.
What's wrong with that?
"We're sorry, we made a mistake over this offer for the radiator reflectors", whether it's Radflex or the MSE bods.
Common courtesy you know.....0 -
So Radflek have been told that companies are not allowed to post on MSE directly, but as an individual who works at the company (and this is me speaking personally) I can assure you that this is simply not true.
Who is RadflekCustomerServices then?
You know, the person that posted in that thread but not in mine?

Radflek would like to congratulate everyone who successfully applied for the 1000 free packs that we were giving out today through Money Saving Expert. We are sorry if you missed out this time. The offer was an unbelievable success. We gave away the 1000 freebies within 2 minutes of the link going live. In fact the offer was so popular that we have actually given away over 1500 packs rather than the 1000 we promised. However, there is still a 20% discount for all MSE subscribers for a week and we will talk to Money Saving Expert about running a similar offer again at the beginning of next winter.
So they'd all gone within 2 minutes now?
Make your minds up people. Your defence is starting to crumble.... not a good sign at all.

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback. This was a totally free giveaway by Radflek but as we explained numbers were very limited.
We added the link to the guide at 12pm on Thursday to ensure that everyone had a fair chance of getting one from the weekly email.
As we warned and with all these types of deals it was a very popular offer. The email goes to over 6 million and there were 6,000 people waiting on the page to grab one, consequently they went within minutes.
In the end 1,600 got freebies, that's £16,000 worth of freebies. Of course Radflek got exposure & promotion from it, that's why companies do these offers in the first place but lots of MoneySavers were able to benefit from this.0 -
Radflek has sent us this response:
“We are very glad for the chance to respond to MSE and the MSE customers who feel that we have been underhand.
Firstly please let us start by saying that our offer was and is made in good faith. The 1,000 packs are a genuine giveaway and we are sending out an additional 600 packs (that is 1,600 in total) to customers that successfully applied in those first few minutes post noon. We’d hoped that the additional discount of 20% would appeal to those customers that weren’t lucky enough to get a free pack but felt that they would benefit from this energy saving product.
Before the Money Saving Expert newsletter went out on Wednesday we had somewhere in the region of 60 Facebook fans and 100 Twitter followers. After it went out our numbers increased to 130 Facebook fans and around 140 Twitter followers.
In the hours leading up to the Thursday noon start time we had lots of enquiries from many keen money savers asking how they redeemed the free packs. We had enquiries from social networks, direct email and our live chat systems whom we referred back to the MSE email.
Yesterday morning, the volume of enquiries reached fever pitch, and rightly or wrongly we made the decision to tweet and facebook the publically available Money Saving Expert page http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/free-cavity-loft-insulation#radiator . We did this with the best intentions; to answer the masses in what we thought was the most effective way and to take the pressure off our swamped team.
Our intention was never to use this as an additional marketing tool for non MSE money savers; we did not tweet the direct URL (MONSAVE20) or the code (MS20), we simply directed people to the MSE page where the offer was taking place.
We understand that our servers experiencing a few minutes down time in those minutes post noon caused frustration too and the pure and simple reason for this was the huge surge in simultaneous requests and we have learned a lot from it.
Finally, we apologise to all MSE money savers for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused, it was not our intention.”0 -
