Hi I started to click on the radiator reflectors link a couple of seconds before 12 as soon as the link went live but kept getting the link was broken message. I tried about 6 times getting the same message every time. I then noticed that the message on this site said all the free reflectors were now gone!
I am feeling very disappointed. I would of understood if I had got through the link and found they had all gone but I was not even given the chance as the link was broken!
Please can some one explain how people have got the reflectors when the link on the page was broken?0 -
Same here, cantcope. Me and my fiancee were clicking from the moment that link went up.
Refreshed, no link. Waited a second, literally. Refreshed, link. Clicked. Nothing.
Rinse and repeat a few times before being told they've all 'gone'.0 -
biggest con going, how can site say all gone in 3mins yet noone could get on the site & as poppea above states they then did get to sign up @12.13pm & will hopefully receive their set. well done to any one that did get through :-)0

I'll eat my hat (I don't have one, but I'll buy one for this very purpose) if 1,000 individual MSE users have been successful in claiming one of these freebies.
Like I said, fairly sure it's a marketing ploy by Radflek. Sales are down, let's pretend we'll give away 1,000 free and then lure those who 'missed out' into buying a set with a 20% off code....
Don't buy them, though. They're not worth £9.99 - even with 20% off. Go and buy a large roll of tinfoil from Poundland, cut out a sheet and fold it over three or four times then trim to the right size.
It does the exact same job, might not last as long as the stuff from Radflek - though folding it over will certainly increase it's lifespan and efficiency by adding thickness to it - but it's one hell of a lot cheaper.0 -
Same here was refreshing from 11:45 just incase it went a few mins early, from 12:00 until 12:06 I tried to get the link to open it just didn't work. Something smells a bit off to me, anyway, won't waste any more time with Radflek, it really is a poor show, and yeah 1000 gone in 3 mins when people couldn't even get tthe site to work is just poor poor PR for them.0

I managed to get the page up and filled in the form and pressed submit but didnt get a "Thank you, your free pack will be with you soon" message, are they also sending out emails to those who made it in time? I only ask as I am tempted to take up the 20% offer if I didnt get the freebie but I dont know if I got the freebie or not.0

Don't buy them for £9.99 with the 20% off - seriously, just buy some tinfoil!
Failing that, if you must have a purpose built product, buy it elsewhere.
Much cheaper on eBay for a start:

Both the same stuff, does the job the same, cheaper than the Radflek stuff with the 20% off code...0 -
I even set my alarm clock to get the link on time. Then, impossible to get through. Agreed there would be far more than 1000 people chasing 1000 freebies if it was genuine. A self-defeating promotion. I was keen to see if the reflectors actually improved heating efficiency and may have bought some more. Now I will never know and happy to forget Radflek on a Spring-like day with the heating off!0

I got just the website's front page (at 12.00) and didn't know where to click (I had clicked on the text link in Martin's post). I then tried clicking on the icon at the right in the post and got a form to fill in - so I may have been lucky - I'll let you know!
The site probably crashed due to lack of bandwidth- doesn't look a particularly professionally designed site and all us MSE-ers probably broke it! But I do agree it seems unlikely that all 1000 could go in 3 minutes.0 -
I'm sure people WILL get them as a few have posted on twitter that they managed to complete the form. We just werent the lucky ones. I can live without them. 1,000 wasnt many compared to everyone that uses the site anyway. Good luck to those that managed to grab some xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0
