The Sun £9.50 holidays - have you got confirmation yet?

Hi,

as the title suggests:p have any of you got comfirmation of your sun £9.50 hols yet.

I've asked for the first week in April (school hols) and haven't heard yet, it's gettin a bit close & their helpline doesn't open until 1st march so I just wondered if any one else had their reply yet?

Friends got a reply and confirmation just over a week ago. They had used the sun several times a few years back, and normally extend their holiday around confirmed dates. When she phoned to do this they got the last 2 caravans in the park & they were fully price. In the past they just paid the same rate as the sun offer. (so she tells me!)

Their holiday is in the summer... do you want me to ask for the telephone number they got with their confirmation? I don't really know anything about the sun offer, so don't know if that would help you.

I got mine ages ago. I have payed the balance and now saving up hard.
I was surprised that I got mine through so quick as this is the first time I have ever applied for this offer.
I am going in the last weekend of April. I couldn't afford the whole week.

We got ours last weekend, I was annoyed that it cost us an extra £80 above the price we were quoted, at this price, it doesnt seem so much as a good deal to me.

  • I still havn't heard, and my cq doesn't appear to have been cashed. I sent it special delivery, so I know it arrived on 13 Jan, priority.

Its so annoying, because I would book something, but if I do, you can guarantee it will arrive.

It would have been nice at least if you could know either way.

I was fortunate to be able in 2004 to be able to take up both the Sun's and Express' £9.50 holiday deals .The Sun's deal ended up costing £86(family of 4) once they'd added on extras such as the compulsory entertainment passes for a Haven holiday in South Wales at the end of March . The Express holiday cost £38 (family of 4) for a Pontin's holiday in Devon.
Unfortunately due to employment changes (I now have to book holidays 18 months in advance. ) I'm unable to take up these offers as the waiting for confirmation and knock backs on available weeks it's hard to guarantee a definite date. What I did find out however that by going on the Haven website in March & April providing you've got time off you can book last minute deals at £40 all in for a family of 4.Booking on the thursday and starting the holiday the following monday. It worked out less than half the price of the Sun holiday deal as the entertainment passes were included in the price.Hope this information helps someone if they can't get the dates they want.
P.s. I did find that my cheque for the newspaper offer wasn't cashed until after the confirmation was agreed.
