Mum2one - next chapter - baby steps make big strides

Options
Those that know me, hi, those that don't hello.

When I started my last diary in 2009, my debt free date was Nov 2015, and was i going to do my best to beat it, but unfortunately a few bad decisions, head in the sand, dig deeper, I guess theres a 1001 reasons, but August last year everything came to a head, i'd taken out a consolidaton loan the yr before, maxed the cards, although yes some was spending, other was interest, and it was robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I guess I had yet another light bulb moment, but this time the light stuck on, and maybe it took me till Dec last yr to get a lot in place, and I will be honest and say that Nov 2015 is a distant dream. This is a new chapter, I finally sat down and worked out every penny I owe, and start a fresh.
About 75% of my debts are on repayment plans, but I'm doing my best to get the debts paid.

I have the most wonderful daughter, one who has a heart of gold, and who I absolutely love to bits, and she has got her head screwed on.

2. Halifax CC - repayment plan = ££2686.

10. Barclaycard - repayment plan = ££2696.00
11. Littlewoods - (£550 of that due buy now pay Nov, rest normal paln - normal payments)£622.00
12. Dad Visa What I can, when I can, - £2450

14. Ousba (2) - normal payment £200
15. Argos (mums account) Camera - £140 (paid Jan 2012)

£26479

(Got family debt - which is money borrowed from family and savings I've used over the years - but I have not included them as want to get the creditiors paid 1st)

Done SOA before, and taken advice from debt charity, but at the moment, am doing a self managed DMP, which touch wood working ok,

I try to be orgnaised, get items in sales, use vouchers, make presents, anything that saves a penny. In our house, my daughtr and I share the house with my parents.

Presents for 2012 (does not include, mum, dad or my daughters presents)

    Birthday Presents - 25 people - done 24 presents

Mothers Day/Fathers Days - £25 should cover all presents left

Christmas Presents - 50 presents - got 3/4 done, but sort rest out later in the year.

    ---
Daughter - her 10th birthday this yr, she doesn't ask for anything, shes asked what she wanted and she has asked for a hot air ballon trip, (but got a deal, parents go half, would be same as what would spend on her).

sods law school holidays, DD poorly, took her + her frined out yesterday, lucky was just before we come away, DD was sick everywhere.

Shes brighter today, I ended up at Gp had cold/ throat infection, playing havoc with asthma, got kicked out of the front room at 4am by the dog who wanted the front room to himself...
I've got chest infection, swollen neck glands, and wheezy lungs, so am now got 5 days steriods, (which all they make me want to do it eat or be sick!), then 2 weeks antibiotics, which means my loo roll needs to be soft!!

But some brilliant news have booked DDs birthday present, shes going up in hot air ballon, (dads going with her. his smile went from ear to ear), got a deal, literally means we've paid nearl half price. So mum + i going halves, even better money savvy for me as shes buying some vouchers off me for my share! xx

shes so hyper about it already, we've got count down marked down on the calender, they go April, plzed for her.

Surviving a frugal Feb, but be worth it in the end. xx
